These are the factory TRX-4 bumpers, I just modified them a bit to tuck in. I've already flipped the mounts, butchered the bumpers and the body. But I'm looking for something that is a bit better and won't break the bank.

The Injora front bumper doesn't look too bad and it's only $22. I'm sure it's Injora quality, but it's still metal unlike the factory plastic bumpers and smaller.

Similar to that is Yeah Racing it looks a bit wider though. $25.

SSD makes some nice stuff but get pretty pricey very quickly.

Thoughts, suggestions, pics please.

I've heard good things about injora mainly their tires. Though I've yet to try any of their products

The Injora one looks good. I'm not familair with the brand but if its decent quality then I like the way that one looks.
I have the roof rack and inner fenders by them. I also have aluminum body posts I have yet to use. Those are all on my Axial 10.2

Not to defend Traxxas but those bumpers look like they were beat to hell. Are they still in one piece? If they are, I'd say they held up pretty well.
You are going to get a lot more flex with plastic than aluminum. I'd be curious to see if the aluminum holds up as well under those conditions.

LOL. You can defend Traxxas, I didn't realize they were the Evil Empire.

They and the truck has been loved, but I also cut the and modified the body and bumper. The bumper stuck out like wings and hung up on everything. So I put them on a diet by cutting and curling the ends, flipping the mounts and trimming them to tuck in to the body.

You can see my cut, where I removed a wedge, reshaped it and glued (tried) it.

Normally that rear edge would be 1/8" outside the body. The rear bumper is even worse. It's dead flat with not corner like I have.

I had to do some cutting and drilling on mine also. I had an aluminum one but it was too small for the winch I had so I used the stock one.
If you decide to go with Aluminum, let us know how it holds up.

I saw someone else did that and found some pictures too. Looks pretty good.

Those are the ones, they might be able to be pushed in a little more if the body is trimmed. I do not run any bumpers on my sport. I lowered the body and it keys between the bumper mounts nice and solid. The mounts support the body but it still takes a beating. Found a pic from when I built it. That paint running on my fender flares still pisses me off...rookie mistake...

Nice. I was running no bumpers and it was a lot more capable. But then a friend gave me crap about not being scale, so I too it as a challenge. No matter what bumper I run though it will never be as good as no bumper, because the body would flex a bit when I jammed it in there. Good thing I don't drive like that in the real world.

Also I tucked (raised) my rock sliders by about 4 mm. I got some more clearance no the sides and the body stays on there a bit better too. Traxxas makes a "kit" but I just used some spacers and longer screws from the hardware store, then modified the spacers to fit inside the slider pocket. It cost me about $3 and no shipping.

Yeah, you get that a lot in this hobby. When someone’s truck performs like crap they will bring it up. Tell him the body has bumpers molded right into it...I as well as raising the sliders I mounted everything more forward, got rid of the battery and receiver boxes and put a small battery in front.

You could probably fit any bumper (with the same mount spacing) on it don’t need to spend tons of money on it just to make it look nice, it’s going to get beat cheap out on it and save money for more useful upgrades next upgrade I'm doing to my TRX4 sport is a hobbywing 1080 it’s super affordable at $45 and has a lot of tuning options

I'm running the HW 1080 (OG) and Holmes Hobbies TrailMaster Sport. I'm considering moving to the HW Fusion. Outrunners are very cool, but the noise is ridiculous.

Some good stuff here and a lot to unpack. The TRX4 bumpers are a bit chunky, scaler fab makes some super nice ones that can be custom ordered, but custom, more expensive. The vanquish ones look pretty good at a reasonable price tag.
Funny how Traxxas leaves the rock sliders low, but then will sell you the bits to raise them up…. I guess it falls into the category of scale appeal.

Lastly, I agree that the truck needs only a few upgrades if a motor upgrade is on your list the fusion is a masterpiece. I put the pro in our sport build, and I’m blown away 🤯

Someone probably did the mod then Traxxas decided it would be a good idea and found parts in their bin. But when you lift them up, the actual slider is about level with the pan, and it would have made more sense to extend the side pan thingy.

I suppose they spent a bunch of money on injection molds and it give users something to do.

Next time I head to the hardware store I’ll look for some spacers to raise them up, this is a great truck, we’re having a ton of fun with it
