Good evening all. Newbie, red cat racing 11.1V 3 cell Lipo Battery (200mah)(JST)(1pc) is apparently back ordered. Back in my old rc days they were nicad and about the size of a Samsonite brief case. What's the best wat to tend to these little guys? Aftermarket options? I haven't killed the dime size batt yet but whats life expectancy and run times (aprox) on the rcr ascent apex? I just doubled down and bought a Traxxas trx-4m for nostalgic reasons.. is there a charger that can make both batteries happy for longevity? Or are the USB equipt chargers ample? I'm a novice for novelty not competitive on any level but a few friends want to play too.. so it may get a little competitive.

My chargers are getting up there so I'll let someone else fill in that blank spot for me :)

You're asking the right questions and looking into the right things. You'll want to get a squid charging cable so it has all the ends you'll need to get started.

You should also pick up a TRX4-M battery charger adapter to use in conjunction with the squid cable. I have a few but just not handy.

The key is storage charging them to 3.8v per cell when not in use. I have batteries that are OLD, like a decade? Just take care of them and they'll take care of you.

Get yourself a charging sack to store those little guys in; just extra insurance.

I keep my big batteries in a proper storage container.

Here's one of a few squid cables I have:
