my jato 2.5 will start fine but it needs the ez start motor to keep spinning it or else it will shut off. Here is what i have done and checked: new fuel lines, sealed backplate and carb, clutch spins freely, replaced glow plug. i had it running earlier this week but would either bog out at high speed or cut out at low speed and have changed the carb settings from 3-4 turns on hsn and bleow and above flush on lsn. WHAT THE HELL!!!!!??????? like i said if i keep the ez starter on it it will keep running but once i take it off it dies!!!

Try resetting the carb needles back to the factory setings and then try to lean them out from there.

Have you tried a new plug? Just because they glow doesn't mean they are good. They have a coating on them that reacts with the methanol in the fuel. As the coating wears, it slowly stops working like it should.

this just in.....i needed a hotter plug(I'm running 25%). i figured this because i used my glow igniter and left it on the truck and it would run fine. now my issue is that once its hot it bogs when full throttle is applied? its usually the low speed needle needing to be leaned but it doesn't do anything if i lean it. i screwed around with the needles all day today so I'm thinking its not a tuning issue?

also forgot to add once in the air off a jump or if you pick up the back wheels and give it gas it takes off like it has a mind of its own until some sort of force is against it like setting it down or landing.

Lets start from the beginning since you've moved both needles to an unknown.
Reset both to factory settings. Make sure your ignitor is fully charged. Keeping an engine running as long as the ignitor is on is a sure sign that the LSN is too rich. When it's factory flush, turn it in 1/8 of a turn. When it starts, let it run for half a minute before removing the ignitor. During that time, give it little blips on the throttle to keep it cleared out. If it stalls when you remove the heater, lean the LSN 1/16 more. Keep accurate track of how much you move it since slight adjustments make a big difference.
Once it runs on it's own let us know, and we'll go to the next step. Don't make any other adjustments on your own. If you change the settings, it only gets more difficult for us to get it running right.

it runs on its own since i changed the plug, now it bogs really bad up top?

If it bogs at throttle from a dead stop, you'll need to lean the LSN a bit more. Be careful, and watch your temps.
When you get a good idle and a good takeoff, (AFTER it's warmed up) you'll need to make adjustments to the HSN for WOT.

ok so i went back to a colder plug, now its running very good but hot(304). I will richeen things up later on tonight so it runns colder. now my problem is that when there is no load on the tires and i give it throttle it wont come back? does it matter how tight my throttle return spring is?

If it's running hot, you've set one of your needles too lean.
The throttle should return on its own, with just the servo. You have something binding or you have weak batteries in your receiver. NEVER start an engine till you know EVERYTHING mechanical and electrical is working as it should.
