This is why you don't buy Traxxas...

Let's all troll trx.lol. I bet we can convert at least 90% over here to Arma products.lol.

I troll traxxas on reddit, Anyone who asks or talks bout buying a traxxas I'm like NOO DON'T!!! Go buy arrma and thank me later..

I have at least 2 trx fan boys that stalk my posts now and refuse to let it go lol

Jeeze, they must be proud of their batteries.

Yeah, all I said was NEVER believe the C rating on batteries.
It’s an unregulated market so every single one of them is false.
Heck a brand new Traxxas battery barely hits 15 on a Gilles meter, lol.

Pretty much zackly how I said it. It was a Traxxas employee that dinged me saying i was a troll for saying that, lol.

They don’t want to hear about any kinds of issues you’re having so you never read about solutions. All they want is lollipops and candy canes, videos and pix of you loving on Trx.
Double G = Giant Goofball is 1st thing that comes to my mind. I have ZERO respect for this person.

I just sat down to put on my replacement parts and found out I can add a bent rear shock shaft and now leaking shock to the list of ONE DAY breakages.
So to recap, one day at a carpet track, no huge jumps, and:
1) broken in half rear shock tower
2) Broken rear gearbox
3) bent rear shock shaft and now broken leaking shock.

Again.. all in one day.

I guess for once I'm glad I have my Stampede so I can replace it without having to buy new ones. I'm so done spending money on this trash.
Gonna rip the Velenion out of the Stampede and sell it as a cheap roller at this point so I can get a Tekno ET410 and at least have it up and running while I save up for a good SMC or Tekin system.

The Trx forums moderators suck. There was one that had it out for me.
Lemme guess, was it ksb51rl?

What car has first day breakages?

What car has first day breakages?
The Jato 3.3, Bandit, v1 E-revo, 2wd & 4wd Stampede, 2wd Slash, & 6s X-Maxx. OF those 7, 2 were destroyed, 3 were sold, & I still have 2 today, although the 4wd Stampede is in pieces & the 6s X-Maxx has no original parts.

What car has first day breakages?

I meant all that broke in one day, not the first day I had it. Although to answer your question, my Traxxas Stampede vxl broke on the first day I ran it. Barely hit a wooden planter and the front left steering knuckle snapped like a twig. So the answer is, a Traxxas does. :D

I still say the 2 biggest turds are the Mini E-Revo and the E-Maxx.

Merv.
Shocks are garbage and leak.
Plastic driveshafts constantly break.
Chassis and bulkheads are very fragile and will break.
Axle carriers are about worthless.
Stock servo is crap. And is notorious for just dying and browning out the rest of the electrical system.
Diff gears strip even when properly shimmed do to the cheap plastic used in the bulkheads.
All the plastic links and the shocks use plastic balls that wear out.
Steering rack is very fragile and breaks.
Front bumper mount constantly breaks.

E-Maxx
Just refer to my first post in this thread.

I need an alt account at reddit. If I troll Traxxas and they look through my post history, I'll surely be burned at the stake for posting in places reddit users have deemed unsafe, poison and illegitimate. Even if it's the third largest sub in the reddit pansysphere.

Yep. He’s the one.
I even contacted Traxxas and give them screen saves of the poop he was accusing me of.
He sifted through my profile and seen that I posted I’m a cannabis farmer.

So he said I needed to remove it.

I told Trx I’m a legal card carrying person even if I don’t need it in Washington state.

Trx employee actually seemed to side with me saying he’ll never bother you again.
So I’m sure that’s why he had the “chicken avatar” moderator write me up.

Listen, I understand. They get thousands of people running through there that are nothing but trouble.
But I’m not one of them. And it’s insultung that they think different.

Funny how I knew that right?

That dude is totally the guy who gets picked on all day at school or his job and needs to flex his mod muscle whenever he can to feel important and feel like he has some authority over someone. I've had my own run in with that guy as well as there being an entire thread dedicated to busting on him on the RC Sparks forums. He's one of the main reasons people don't go there anymore, yet they continue to let him be a mod.
He even pm'd me, accusing me of "forum bullying" when I asked a few people arguing over stupid crap in one of my threads to "please stay on topic." :ROFLMAO:

You guys should see the mods on RCtech, no consistency to rule enforcement at all. We are on version 4 of a random crap type of thread. They keep deleting the entire 200-300 page threads over some moron posting political stuff. They banned me for a week for telling a troll that since he loves Traxxas so much he should have his lips sewed to their butts. They banned a guy for posting a MMA interview video and the guy said the f word once in the video. I see people dropping F Bombs all day long over there and no ban.

I've been known to bash Traxxas a little in my threads, but only because of how often I break these money pits trying to pass for "hobby grade" rc cars.
Today was no exception. Took my Rustler to the new indoor carpet track the club I frequent opened up today for practice runs.. I didn't even get through one complete battery pack and it broke not once, but twice. First casualty was a rear shock tower that literally split in half. A buddy had a spare so I tossed that on and kept running. Not 4 laps later... the rear bulkhead where the hinge pin attaches split wide open. This is a small indoor track with some pretty small jumps. Not bashing this thing or launching it 30 ft like Kev Talbot does... it was also pretty warm in there so cold wasn't a factor in making the plastic brittle. I guess I just don't consider a product quality when you have to immediately replace over 3/4 of the parts with RPM or something stronger so this crap doesn't frequently happen.
So far I've had to replace both front steering knuckles, rear axle carriers, servo gears, a complete servo, now a rear shock tower (might as well do both), a gear cover where the plastic split from barely over-tightening, and now a transmission case. Also going to replace the a-arms with rpm as those are bound to go on me as well... I've only had the car since August and haven't run it that often. Not to mention the parts I've had to replace on my Stampede as well which I'm now trying to sell just to get rid of the thing.

EDIT: Make that 3 times in one day. Apparently I also bent the crap out of the cheap shafts on the rear shock as well that day on the Rustler. (Not even on the side that the hinge pin mount broke)

TL;DR Traxxas sucks, do not buy. Don't be a sucker like I was and believe the fanboys who swear by this crap.

Went through the agony of starting my career in the hobby with the Revo 2.0. It had a shot at being a great RC, but just didn’t quite cut the mustard. I’m wondering if a lot of their subassembly goes on in China? Some of my 2.0 was not put together according to spec. The dual servo setup in particular was a friggin pain, 7 pairs I went through. Snapped shock shafts, like you said, tire problems, the differential and drive shaft got so hot it melted an bubbled the chassis from front to back. It was a lot of work and the wife definitely did not understand the amount of time I put in working on something I’d just paid over 800 bucks for when the smoke cleared. Yikes! Traxxas Divorce Court could be a reality show I’m thinking!
So I understand where you’re coming from. Arrma has been infinitely better in providing maximum fun without the need for a family law attorney. Thank you Arrma!

WTF.... I just also noticed my right rear wheel is cracked as well from that same track day.

rustler wheel.webp

So within an hour at the track in one day:

Broken rear a-arm mount (had to replace entire gearbox) $30
Rear shock shaft bent and leaking shock body (new big bore shocks set $50)
Bent front toe turnbuckle ($7)
Cracked Rear Wheel ($26 replacement for set)
Cracked rear shock tower ($9 for rpm replacement)

That's from ONE DAY. Over $100 in broken replacements. RIDICULOUS. This was all on a small carpet track...

I'm so mad right now I'm ready to throw this thing right in the trash. Never... buy... a Traxxas.
