So as cool as 4wheel steering was i had to reset it back to a straight axle. Ran into too much difficulty finding a suitable watts link and just waaaaay too much bumpsteer.
The thi g never wanted to straighten back out again.
Refilled the axle with marine grease.
Need a mew pivot ball for the upper links so its sitting waiting on that at 90% done.

Took the Old Man out for a rip a few days ago.
It was awesome
And I sent up a sacrifice to the rc gods

I threw a driveshaft. There were lots of vines amd I landed a few SWEET jumps lol

On the plus side this was very similar to my last repair if not the same thing so I have replacements on hand.
The sad part?
I haven't swapped yet and I'm sitting here at a jobs item surrounded by things to crawl and even have the Basecamp and the ecto.
But I can't run em

The ecto is rear wheel drive only
And the Basecamp has no clips as their in my walking bag next to my table at home lol

I do!!! I can fix ANYTHING!!!
Moses parted the Red Sea... I glued it back together! 🤣

I would tell you to stop picking on my Mids and go beat up on your own crawlers... but you already do. 🙄🤷‍♀️

welp it turns out i did NOT have the correct driveshaft. the part i have is sighlty too long and makes it bind up. ordered another set. shew this is the 3rd set.
this trucks an absolute tank. the parts i HAVE broken have all been because of ridiculous antics. and also have been easy repairs. i love this truck lol

put some lights on the front hood fo the night runs a btc, flipped the screw direction of the servo horn, it kept falling out, i had it installed upside down for some reason? i dont know but i also added a locknut to the end of it to make it hang out where i wat it for awhile longer lol.

while building the comp fox, i took a few parts off the Old man, i used the diff cover, the steering knuckles, and the brass wheel weights. i also took the motor!,
tonight i replaced the motor with a different quickrun motor, same as the one i took off, i reinstalled the factory steering knuckles, I'm gonna lose a little throw but ill deal with that when the tarrifs go down, is unobtainium for me now when the shipping is 2x the price of the item
then i realised i forgot to replace the diff cover, so its sitting here waiting for me to remove the axles AGAIN tonight so i can reinstall the factory diff cover,

i am eyeballing the dezert lizard shocks as well lol, the comp fox has 1 shock leaking....

the ecto was my first real rc. it will always be my favorite i think, he taught me so much about the hobby, soldering, wrenching, diagnosing, breaking, tuning, taught me to drive without using full throttle and also that its almost always a good time for a little throttle lol.

other than the diff cover being taken by my parts gremlin all 3 elements are rear to hit the trail as of right now

2 ecto's and the comp fox. i dig em.

also hooked up a much too long whinch hook to the Old man, i havent found a winch servo mount for the comp fox yet.

i LOVE magnetic body mounts omylanta what a much betterer way!
