I see... it says "brushy" which is a brushed version. $146 for the brushless. Still, not bad for what it is equipped with. Lets hope this thing is killer regardless of the current price.

Can't wait to hear you guys' thoughts on this, and I can't wait to see if Furitek and others start designing stuff for them. It looks like a great little truck. And I really hope they take off and UDI moves up in the world. Their little drift cars look pretty decent.

Even thought it's a China based company, I think they actually hit the scene with better looking stuff than anything you find from the Chinese sellers on Amazon. I really hope it's not hard to mod this thing with SCX24 or FMS parts. That would make this one a really worthy contender in the 24th scale game.

My thoughts exactly!
I had a UDIRC drift truck that was called the "Baron". It looked like the Ken Block F-100 drift truck. Sure, it had some dumb words on it but, it was really fun to drive. I believe it was a 1/16 scale; we don't have it anymore. My son drove it through some water and that was it, done deal for the esc. It was about $60 so I literally tossed it and wish I wouldn't have. It did have some minor design flaws, specifically that you couldn't adjust the rear toe or camber angle. Once it started wearing in, the rear wheels started to differ in toe angles so it would drift easier going left than right for example.
They have some nice-looking boats I can't wait to get my hands on when summer rolls around!!!!

I'm thinking either FMS or Hobby Plus parts will fit. Can't wait to see if I shot myself in the foot or if I got a hidden Gem. 🤣

Likewise! If it sucks, I am going to gut it for all the goodies and build something else! I have a strong feeling FMS-parts will fit, but I am mostly being hopeful.

More titanium goodness from Sortafast. I wanted to shave some weight where the front bumper mounts on my SK. Despite the name, the shipping was ridiculously quick. Now I gotta get some rod ends (which Sortafast also sells)

They should make the threaded portion hollow 😅

But hell yeah, those are some sick looking screws. And those scallops aren't weakening them one bit. So kickass design. @Littlemotor you fiend - why aren't you doing this? Lol.

They’re awesome-I’m just a bit of a “less is more” kinda dude is all-and fear change. I am just a “basic biiiitch” with my old school flatheads and countersunk washers, or SHCS, and cone washers. 🤷🏻‍♂️😎

They’re gonna look killer on whatever he uses them on though for sure! 🤙

I could see very competitive racers going all out with these fasteners.

Shhh - don't tell anybody... especially not her.

John from the STR Racing group posted up on FB that he's wanting to get out of Nitro. Well, Hey - far be it from me to pass up a Hella deal like this! Good timing as well, since tomorrow is TNT Tuesday, so I'll swing by after work to pick it up, meet some of the guys, and get the rest of the story (why would anybody want to quit Nitro?!).

Mugen MBX8R 1/8 scale nitro buggy
Universal drive shafts installed
Lightweight rear arms installed
Alpha Dragon 4 engine with Alpha 2134 pipe, (pre broken in engine from Ryan Lutz RC) 4 tank break in procedure followed. About 6 race days on it with 10-minute mains. Would be a good idea to replace the connecting rod.
Mugen 4 shoe clutch
JConcepts Ti Turnbuckles
JConcept Triple Dees tires, (blue compound), on JConcept wheels
Protek 2300mah receiver 2s lipo
TLR glow plug ignitor with charger
Yellow painted body with black wing
Starter box with XT90 connector, (no battery included)
Bag of spares for buggy that includes A full set of CVD axles, some bearings, stock rear arms, chassis braces and a few other items
Bag of spares for engine that includes 2 new glow plugs, carb restrictors, clutch springs, exhaust springs
owner's manual with Mugen stickers
No servo's, receiver or transponder included.

Anybody got any ideas on what would be a good power center that I could plug into 110 (on the bench) as well as 12VDC on the tailgate? I'll be needing something to keep this receiver pack charged, as well as to light up the starter box. I used to just run my starter box/motor straight off my truck's battery (I had a nice tabletop that would mount to the light tabs on my old Nissan King Cab's push bar).

That's an awful lot of yellow. I'm thinking that body needs a fade into some stripes. Hopefully, I can find some cool rims as well.

I snuck in a ninja edit on your asss, lol.. Oh I’ve seen them around, and many other different variations of screw heads from other RC specific manufacturers. J&T has some pretty cool looking stuff, and a LOT of different companies do servo mount screws in all types of head design..

Ha!!! Nice haul sir!!! Another member that’s into my kinda shiit!!! 1/8 *uggies for life!!! -and Nitro is the Glory!!! 🤘🍻😎

@Mister 4x4

Any decent 12V power supply should get you there with a pair of ‘gator clip leads (I’d make my own, and reach the tailgate), as well as a standard 110 wall receptacle 2/3 prong plug.

These are extremely popular, and with stellar feedback from the guys I know, as well as on eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1718903166...96E7YmARk6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Of course you also have the option of building your own, but for the money, and quality-the above unit is pretty daamned nice, and well worth it.

I seen that, and almost put it in my shopping cart. 👍

Thanks! I thought it was a smokin' deal @ $500, considering the car itself is $650-700 new.

I'll have to check if my Ram has a power inverter in the bed (I don't think so), but I know the ones in the cab need to have the engine running to be of use.

That's a nice unit - Thanks! I guess I could always do what my buddy Lewis did and just have a car battery in the bed for the 'tailgate bench.' I wonder if I could use one of those Jump-Start packs to feed it - I need to get one of those, anyway. I'm thinking about putting together a roll-away field box, kinda like that Milwaukee unit Jim Davis is running for his stuff. Ideally, I'd have all of the receiver packs and ignitors charged up before heading to the track. I see Harbor Freight has some modular boxes similar to the Milwaukees, but a LOT cheaper, I'm sure: https://www.harborfreight.com/tool-...ol-boxes-bags-belts/modular-tool-storage.html

Orrrrrrrrrr, the ‘gator clips on long leads to your battery under the hood… My old man did a separate deep cycle battery in the bed of his truck years ago, and the leads didn’t need to be but a few feet long. Worked excellent.

Daamned right-you did good at a measly five bones for a CURRENT Mugen buggy, and a great running Alpha motor! Plus everything else ya roped in with it! 🍻🤙

LOL!! OK - I'll think about the gator clips and long leads. I just had a thought about running some good 8 gauge amplifier power & ground leads on the frame and make a weather-proof terminator panel inside the bed by the cargo lights. Keeps it all nice, tidy, and dry (even though I have a nice BackFlip bed cover. Fortunately, the track has a nice covered pit area (from what I've seen in the pics - I'll find out tomorrow), so I might not need to stage from the truck.

Now, I just need to remember to ask John what kind of servos he was running - I have a few spare HiTecs, but I'm not sure if they're still good or not. I do have the spare FS-BS6 receivers for the FlySky 5GT radio I just picked up, so I'll be able to load up The 'Hawk and the Mugen with new electrics once things warm up a bit. I guess I can see what kind of power he was using for the starter box and charger for the receiver pack, too - it sounds like this was his only Nitro rig and just wants to stick with electrics.

I like the way you think sir.

As far as the Hitecs, I was a HUGE longtime Hitec guy, but today-depending on your rx pack-you’ll likely have to run a BEC deal, as they won’t put up with the higher voltage of a standard 2s LiPo.. I did all my due diligence when I got back in from my hiatus, and found there to be MUCH better servo’s for much cheaper, and far better performance than the newer Hitec’s even-when comparing “high end” stuff.

None of these require BEC setups:

I run NitroPro (hands down best warranty in the business today), killer performance, and a reasonable price point. Also Tekin’s are phenomenal, and I’d also recommend MKS. There are cheaper, as well as MUCH more expensive, but I like to stay between $110, to $170. I will NOT exceed $170, no matter how “nice” they are..

Glad to have ya on the forum man! 🤙

Glad to be here, and very much appreciate all the good info! All of my previous cars ran the standard AA 4-packs that came with the Futaba Magnum Jr. and Kraft/KO Propo radios I still have. They did fine, but the Mugen's the biggest ride so far, so I don't want to go cheap on the electrics and sacrifice performance - throttle response is one thing, but keeping those big shaft-driven meats up front pointing where I want will take something stouter than my old junk.

Thanks again, Brutha! We gas-passers gotta stick together!
