Nice. I'm building a newer grey nitro stampede, same way.
Very cool. I have both the Stampede 2wd and 4x4 kit. Awesome trucks to run. The nitro should be a kick in the arse.
I can't afford to buy a Xmaxx straight out but buying parts each month is more fun.

I want an x, but in the same boat. I'm only buying the nitro like this because Traxxas doesn't makes one.

Back in the day I had a 4wd stampede. Tranny on front and back, 2 motor, esc and lipo.

I started a big, several months project today. I am building a Xmaxx from the ground up, part by part so I just ordered these three parts.
I'll start a build thread when I get them in.

#7722 Chassis
#7744 Front and rear skid plates.
#7715 Front and rear body mounts.

I hope you are marking these things off your diagram as you go lol. If not, you could take a screenshot of the diagram, open it in paint or editor on a phone and mark the parts you have ordered. I would be doubling up on everything by mistake myself if I were doing this 😉

That's a good idea.. I print out the exploded veiw and highlight the parts...

That's exactly what I did. I uploaded all the diagrams and ran them through paint to mark off each part I ordered.
I guess the doubling mistake will work to my advantage. :p
There is 5 diagrams, body, front, rear, chassis and modular. I started with the chassis and am marking off each part. We all know, rarely is there directions with most parts so I'll have to go through the diagram as I build it but I'll upload new ones.

Here you guys are ordering RC parts and I blew my remaining budget on dirt, plaster, T-pins, razor blades, twine, wooden sticks, rubber hose, hose fittings, a water pump, and a great big jar of Italian seasoning. I am a compulsive shopper me thinks 🤣

Oh, I did get some SCX24 tires and shocks too. And one special order 😉

I hate to be a downer TP but isnt that going to cost a lot more in the long run to do it that way? I tried that with a Savage X SS and ordered all the parts from JennysRC where they buy RTRs and part them out and still cost me about $175 more than what the kit would have. I'm really hoping you're not ordering all the parts retail cuz then youll end up spending double the MSRP 😲

I'm excited for you though. I bet you can't wait to get that sucker fired up! I guess at least this way you dont have to waste money on Traxxas's crappy electronics :)

Yes it is Wolf but I don't look at it that way because I am buying a little here, a little there. I can't afford to buy it in a RTR. It will definitely be more expensive but it doesn't bother me at all. This is going to stretch out as far as Spring I'm sure.
I'm in it for the love of the hobby and cost never is an issue for me.

I feel it brutha! I'm excited for you! 1/5 scales are something else. Almost 2 big for me personally so Ill probably never have more than my K8 but you'll have a blast with it for sure! If I bought another one though it would be the X.......at least i think....IDK I've always wanted a Losi 5ive-T also but man they are $1600. I remember ten years ago they were only 1.1K and I thought that was crazy back then lol

I get more excitement out of wrenching than I do driving. As we all know, entertainment comes at a cost.. :)
I have the 1/5 scale Rovan Baja 5B gas and I love it.

I'm gonna get me one of those bajas one day I think. Been eyeballin em for years lol. I know what you mean I spend way more time working on electronics and building stuff than I do actually running it. :)

I'm starting to love it. Trying out light buckets. First try I'm gonna drill 3 and 5mm holes for leds. Second, I'm gonna try to put the led and put filament around it.

Next up, I'm gonna do my shed of weedeaters, chainsaws blowers ect. The plan is a landscaping trailer to match the 1:1.

They got a pro version for 199.99. I got the create 3 nib off of ebay for 40 and 12.00 shipping. The rest of the money I bought a body and misc rc items. If I like it, I plan on buying the pro version and keeping this as a backup.

I really need to get one. I always end up with about 3-6' of filament that I can't use when I finish a roll.

I'm pretty sure it takes 3mm. Not sure if smaller would work. I brought some 1.75mm and it was too small. I accidentally ordered a kilo of 3mm and now I know why. 😁

That is a great way to recycle.
