Really? Do you own alot of Poles and Reels? I own Three Poles. Two are medium lenghts but one is called a Ulua pole. It is about 20 feet(a little less) and stiffer than Homer Simpson after watching a workout video. I own Six Reel's. Each is priced upwards of $200.00. Four are Penn's. They make good Ulua Reels. 3 Reel's are loaded with 20# test. One with 150# test. And the other two arent loaded. I caugh a Kagami ulua which weighed in at six pounds. But its big because these fish are skinny-about one inch thick. They are very silver colored with beautiful streamers. I think they are unique to Hawaii. They are very rare. That is the first Kagami My Grandpa has ever seen, and he hangs around at a Well-Known Fishing Shop. Heres a pic.
Hold on. If i can find it.

When is the best time? late summer early fall? The Ocean byte goes wide open here about mid July.

Sorry about the hijack....

I spent a shitpot of money today, I filled the gas tank in my truck.
The price of gas here will make you :flaming:

We will start hittin em about late June early July and then they swarm all of August and sometimes into September for awhile.
You gotta come up and I'll get you some serious fish. We take it straight to one of our houses when we are done and BB-Q those bad dogs! A little Ted and Barney's seasoning with butter, and lemon salt and a slice of lemon in each then we wrap the steak in foil and set them on the grill its HEAVEN! I love to fish!

Those are the cows! They taste so good. We land those puppies off of the South Jetty Pier right off the rocks and stick those bitches with a gaff. I have no Sealegs I have tried it a few times and blew chunks and was not happy. I was on the mouth of the bay with 14ft swells though. Just imagine the looks on my buddies face when I showed up with a 20 pack of Budwiser they just looked at me and shook their heads. I got all of half a beer down that day and much more came up! I am a shore angler (and lakes)

I do alot of fishing here, the Ohio river is full of suprises, like that 21 inch shad I pulled out of it. Wierd enough, I tried it for catfish bait :D

I've caught many different fish here, my best catch was... Tie between that 4foot 2 inch channel cat, or that 48lb carp. Both were AMAZING fights. The carp just about killed me. Took me more than a half hour with my 6ft medium shimano rod/reel combo. It was great.

I do alot of bass fishing as well, I'm a smallmouth fiend. I do alot of fishing in the local creeks along with ponds. It may not be the ocean, but a 5ft ultralight with 4lb test is just as difficult, if not harder. :) Working the drag more than the reel handle LOL

Just wish I could afford an excellent fishing trip :\

lol, Shimano makes Bike parts also :-P

i dont know alot about fising,But once i was fishing in the local creek, a real small one, and i pulled out a 5lb Bug mouth Bass????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!???????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????/

it was some WEIRD, WEIRD, WEIRD poop man, because bass dont live in 4ft of water, and i cold literally jump acruss the spot where i caught it.

i dont know how it happened, i was alone :(, no camera. This was like 3 years ago.

I have pulled Bass up to 10 lbs from 2.5 feet of water. If there is food they will swim in water that is 8-10 inches deep.

I got this one in the weeds from about 3 feet of water at the most.

This it wat we call a HOG .

thats a Huge fish man, But what is it that the Fish is holding?

But you dont understand, the only thing that anyone ever pulled from there is some small ass fish, and some catfish looking things.

Funny you mention shallow water and big fish..... If I ever took you up to Thunder Bay in Canada (Lake Nippissing) you would be fishing for 3 1/2 foot pike and musky in no more than a foot of water. They love eating the perch in the shallows!!!!

Sorry About how long it took but here is the picture. Its a Kagami. Fights like crazy, It almost snapped my 60# test line! I had it on a Huge pole and Huge reel and it still was a challenge!
