I have a very bad habit of upgrading and failing to keep anything stock
I recently (of course) got my hands on one of the new Mini Kratons. It's a great truck and it really doesn't need any upgrades at all. But well... Here we are... In the deep. Again. I've ordered basically almost everything that make sense to convert from plastic to 7075 aluminum - keeping the things that doesn't make sense. You need certain things to be able to flex and bend back thus I'm not upgrading the arms etc.
Anywho. Here she is. Straight out of box. ARRMA really did a good job on this truck and put a lot of thoughts into evolving the already soled Grom platform.
First thing is to strip the electronics. We don't need those ones do we?
Because we have new ones...
Hobby Wing QuickRun WP 10BL60 G2 ESC and QuickRun 2850 3400kv motor. Still 3S but a must more powerful ESC capable of outputting 60 amp and 400kv more compared to the original 3000kv motor. I'm not planning on making the truck insane we just need that extra punch
Motor in and truck stripped for most of the parts we won't need anymore. Was a bit of a hassle since the Hobby Wing motor uses M3 screws and the stock motor and motor mount M2.5. I had to grind a bit on the M3 screw heads to get things to fit but now it's in there perfectly.
I got my hands on a 3D printer and designed a receiver box for the Kraton. This is still just a prototype and needs a bit more evolvement for cable management. But the basics are there
Now I just need to wait for a pile of parts that will arrive during the week.
Hope you like it and will follow along
