I have paint! Family outing to Hobby Lobby and was pleased they had Createx paint.
1. Gloss top coat
2. Opaque black
3. Opaque White
4. Crimson red

Never used Createx, so we'll see how it goes with the airbrush, I've heard good things.

Not the best pic, but my Ecto-1 siren and police light bar LEDs arrived!

I won't be using that 9V Battery source for the siren. It just looked to be the most versatile option for this project. There is an integrated switch I could use. I'd like to somehow get these wires to a channel on the transmitter. We'll see how that goes, my electrical knowledge is still novice.

It would be nice, at the very least or have the siren on a channel, so I can run it at will.

The roof rack should be here Monday too ☺️

Haha, screaming around the track blasting that siren to pass people... I'd pay to see that.
Unfortunately, no drift track anywhere near me, so I'll have to resort to the garage or house, bits that's okay.
I can see this going in a good direction! Lead the pack and call it a pace car 😄
Siren on a channel to run at will sounds like a fun time! Watching👀😋
😄😄 We'll see how this all goes. Haven't ever worked on a mini z, this project has a bit of a learning curve.

My mini Ecto roof rack arrived today and it's perfect! Playing with the configuration since this roof is so short.

I may go with having the light bar on top of the roof rack, as long as it doesn't look silly. Another option could be to notch the roof rack in front so the light bar sits lower.

Of kiddo allows, I'd like to start playing with the light wiring...

Looks cool!

Did you print the rack?

Notching the rack may look weird. Don't see cop cars with lighting like that.

What about just mounting it up or having a small shelf there so it looks purposeful.

Honestly, I haven't been to the Autobahnen but if you told me this patrolled the roads I would believe you. Digging it so far!

I didn't print the rack...no 3d printer (yet).
A shop on Etsy did it for me :)

Notch probably wasn't the right terminology, but I'd basically just cut the vertical lip on the rack the width of the light bar (in purple), that would lower it down a couple mm.

If the light bar is on the front, I'll have to level it cuz the roof slop. Then the rack hangs off the back a bit, I can probably mitigate that with some creativity too.

Also, mounting like the below (like my first pic where it's on top of the roof rack) gives a little more room for wires.
*Excuse the kiddo's mess on the counter in the background ☺️

Yup. That last pic is exactly what I was thinking you would do. Maybe even build a short riser to raise the light off the rack a tad.

For you guys that haven't watched Guinevere build a car yet, you're in for a treat. This is going to be very cool 😍
Thanks @WickedFog! ☺️
Hopefully I won't disappoint anyone in this build.

The picture of them placed individually on the roof 👎🏼

Definitely combined 👍🏼👍🏼

That's more of what I meant by "shelf"

Trimming the lip off to get it to sit flush 👌🏼

Yeah, I love the look of a roof basket with attachments. I think the light bar would look great with some brackets, mounted over the rack.

Ecto-AMG siren test..it works! 🤩

I'm perplexed as to why my 8 nano LEDs won't turn on when connected to the black and red leads of the 4-pin connector I bought.
Any ideas?
I've not checked the the power draw on the 8 nano LEDs.

If I can solve this problem...I'd be so stoked.

EDIT: Thanks to assistance by @CertifiedMike. I've got the police lights working!
