What are good ideas to solve this issue?
My ofna ultra lx2 ran away from me brand new out the box.
Wile breaking in on second tank it launches full speed to a wall and now its in icu at the ddoctors. Has the force .28 nitro engin. :\

It could be a couple things. Either the batteries ran down or the transmitter lost signal with the car. In either case a failsafe can prevent these things along with a throttle return spring. The failsafe will return the wheels straight and either apply brakes or just remove throttle if the batteries get below a certain point, or if the signal is lost between reciever and transmitter. The throttle return spring only works if a linkage breaks or the batteries become completely disconnected. In either of these cases the servos cannot do their job and even with a failsafe the car will continue to run away. If you have a newer 2.4 GHz system it should have a failsafe built in, but may need to be set up.

Yes its a new one..... well was new. It does have the failsafe and i read up on the spring.
Where and what type of spring? The spring seems to make alot of since.

I thought it was already activated. :(

How would i go about doing this? The manual didn't say anything about it but the controller has it on there. Says F/S

The instructions for the radio should be included and walk you thru how to set up the fail safe. If not you need to contact ofna customer service and explain what happened. If it is by chance supposed to be set up from factory they may replace or repair the damages from it not working. Just a thought anyways. If not then they will at least tell you how to set it up.

Well they are sending me all to parts i need for free after the big crash. They are also sending me a new receiver and radio. I will call them and ask them about this failsafe.
But now what i really want to know is will this spring that ppl put on there tthrottle work?
And where can i find one to fit my .28 engine?

Same problem here, come to find out it was gettn a metal to metal glitch on either the brake or throttle arm, I used some fuel line solve problem. Inserted the piece of fuel line at the end of both arms in front of the lil adjustment screws. I tore my lx2 up 3 times b4 a guy at lhs showed me what was happening.

So your saying it was making contact in the servo?

Just gettn up, I'll got out to my building in a few here and take closer look so I can explain a lil better maybe I can figure out how to post pics to compare wit how yours is set up give me a few.

Pic is in my gallery, its where the brake arm run through the attachment on top of center diff case. The fuel line is in between the attachment loop and stopper on end of brake line, mjne also had a crack in the original battery holder so replaced it also, everything has been fine since then, well broke up and nasty right now came up short on a double jump last week on my lil backyard track, lol

Ooooooohhhh i see what you mean. That will help take the slack out that it has from factory.
But will it return the throttle back to idle when the servo loses power?

And yes i seen it catch on the bracket so that will help that.

As long as you got the return spring on it, either not having that lil piece of fuel line there to act as a spring and stop the metal to metal contact, or my actual battery box being crack making the power supply go in and out was my problem so I fixed both and it solved my running off. I was bout to throw that mf away It trashing the trottle servo and would take off, lol time after time

Do you know if this spring is sold by the hobby store or do i have to make one?
Thanks alot for sharing info with me.

U can usually get a spring frm a hardware store it just hard for me to judge the stiffness, too stiff throttle wont open, not stiff enough it wont serve its purpose to return, just try a couple different ones, it dnt take much

The shop recommend me to buy the futaba radio and receiver so i did. And i asked about the spring and he said yes that will work and they have some for $2. So when i pick up my car i will test this spring thing.

Yeah I did end up gettn rid of the radio and reciever too after my last crash, so between the return spring, fuel line on my brake and throttle rods and new tx/ rx smethn worked, you running the force .28 that came on it, I ended up replacing mine wit the xtm.28 457, she really does a job on that buggy took alot of gearing up to calm her down a lil

Ha. I was wondering what engine to buy for it. I'm looking for alot of low end power and good top speed.
And I'm also looking in to getting new servos for it.
Kind of think of it i should of just build one from the ground up. But noooooo i had to have something now! Lol

Lmao sound like me, checkout clockwork mods engines also b4 u buy stock not a big difference in the price, I've gotten two from them lately and its unexplainable the difference in the performance and tuning.
