Not a rant, I'm just still thrilled I completed my personal goal yesterday to upgrade my ham radio license from Technician to General. It takes a bit of time to go through all the potential questions, there's 432 possible questions. Then you get tested on a random 35 of that 423. So you have to put some effort in. It feels good to not have to take practice exams after I get my kiddo to sleep or in any small instances I can get.
My radio is on order, so I'll finally have the beginnings of a proper mobile station

Congrats, will it work when you really need it... underwater, you know for when your state falls off into the ocean.

This is why I'm gonna stick to an old reliable form of communication!

My dad had a ham radio, but he only used it a couple times that I remember. He was also really big into modding and hopping up his CB radios. He was an electronics wizard, and his bass unit at home could reach South America with esse. If he keyed his mic with his amps turned on, every tv within our block in our neighborgood would go white fuzz mode and emit a noise that sounded like the TV was in lots of pain. He also had a very expensive radio in his car. He could flip a switch hidden under it and pick up the police bsnd thst nobody is supposed to be able to hear. He could pick up wireless phone calls, the airport, jets flying over, fire, ambulance, etc. He was the original hacker

I think it's because your pants were stored in California. The air pressure of having salt water to the west of you instead of the east makes clothing shrink.

Well the bridge by my home is now going to cost 5.something billion dollars and is now delayed to 2030. Their original estimation was 2 billion and done by 2028... I'll be graduated by then. I finish my high school journey before they finish a bridge lol.
Is Rockstar games building and managing this bc they keep delaying GTA 6 lol.


It's been nearly 2 years since the collapse and they have yet to demo the whole old bridge yet. Sucks. Dang slow pokes. They should import the Chinese and they could have it finished by the new year...

no need to import Chinese. just come to a California Home Depot and get yourself some Mexicans. it'll be cleaned up by Friday.

At this rate we MIGHT get GTA 6 before this bridge is built. And guess what. When it's finished the toll fees are probably gonna go up to something absurd like 10 bucks or something.

I don't think that can work bc you know who might send them back to Mexico

just declare the construction zone a sanctuary site.
that's what CA did and you know who can't even send in the agency to return them out here. at least without the hitting the fan.

Found this I guess this person was on a plane circling back around to BWI but I literally see absolutely nothing different here. It's been looking like this for the past 5 or so months so it took basically 1.5 years to get all the concrete dismantled and some section of the bridge in the south side.
I have no idea why they didn't do a controlled demo. Put bombs everywhere hit the button and it will all be gone in like 5 seconds. But no bc it's unsafe and too noisy for the people. But they literally did controlled demo in the truss section when moving that faulty ship out of the channel... People are weird.

Also sad it ain't gonna be a truss bridge anymore bc with the bridge being a truss, Its more meaningful and like more noticeable you know. Bc not many truss bridges are out there. You just don't realize how much you miss something when you don't have it and/or it's not there anymore

Woke around 11:30pm last night. Couldn't fall back to sleep. Got into work a little after 5:00am, this morning. So far, I'm doing OK and not groggy at all. 4 more hours of work.
I need to not get too comfortable after work because I don't want to fall asleep before 8pm, tonight.
