thanks to my package sitting in Springfield Missouri from Monday to Wednesday my weekend project is going to arrive Monday.
Better tell the boss tomorrow that you feel sick on Monday so he can plan ahead. 😉🤣

I fixed the misfire in my new truck (reason I got it for so cheap). New o2 sensors, spark plugs were cracked, some of the plugs wires were loose, fixed the exhaust leak, etc. I was hoping the misfire wasn’t related to the garbage AFM system GM put in these trucks and I was glad to see it wasn’t. Hooked the scan tool up to it, verified the misfires were in fact gone by looking at the misfire monitoring. Hunky dory right?

Ran like a top. Fast forward a few days and the misfire start again with a pretty loud tick. Hook the scan tool back up and look at the misfire history. Few of the AFM cylinders are misfiring… fearing for the worst, I clear flood crank it and it has a very definite compression issue. Pulled the valve covers yesterday and confirmed I have collapsed DOD lifters. 🤦‍♂️ I *almost* avoided that problem. But of course since I’m gonna own it, all the issues it could have, are going to crop up.

Oh well. I expected it buying an 07-13 GM product… still not happy about it though. TSP cam, ls7 lifters, VVT delete, gaskets, tuner, etc on the way. After all said and done it’ll just be a normal 5.3. Pulling the heads and doing the work isn’t that difficult on these. Deciding now whether I do it in the garage or just pay a shop. I have the tools and the knowledge to do it. I just really don’t want to… 😂 Depending on the quote I get back, I may very well end up doing it myself.

so my boss was on vacation from Thursday to sometime yesterday cause when i walked in door the damn paint/varnish booth was full! only 3 are orders. the other 30! are fornicating stock. stock we don't need, we still have over 10 in stock. it's going to be a long fornicating week :rage:
i didn't GD spend an hour cutting insulation and leads and tape for fornicating stock we don't need. but because i cut them, GD it, it needs to be used asap. :rage:
i swear, my boss is the only person i know who can go on vacation and come home in a manic state of chaos. and it's always a fear based behind schedule chaos. :rage:
so I'm pissed the hell off this morning and it's only 8am.

I have TOTALLY come back from vacation like that before.
My fault for turning the cell phone on and allowing that into my vacation time in the first place. Lesson learned.

Your boss just sounds like he might vacation near the sugar plant right next to the coffee fields... just pure and uncut, huh? 🤣
