Team Losi (TLR) coming back in 2025!

Most 1/10 wheeler buggies have been basically Xray copies for years now, I’m not sure if it’ll make a huge difference in the hands of such a phenomenal driver.

Juraj Hudy did to these things what AE, Team Losi, and Kyosho did to the 2WD buggies between ’85–95: wrote the recipe that was the norm for the following 20 years. It’s telling that TLR, AE, Yokomo, PR Racing, and LR racing all designed their buggies while looking at Hudy’s homework. Schumacher is the only manufacturer you can tell apart from the others in the pit anymore.

If anyone has kept to racing with a TLR and has the logistics sorted out, they have remained seriously competitive despite the age of the car IMO. They could release updated buggies and provide spare parts today, and be on top of the game tomorrow if they wanted.
I never said a word regarding 1/10…. I was 100% referring to 1/8 off-road… as far as “could be on top tomorrow” goes, that’s speculation, and opinion.. a lot of things “could” be a certain way, but they are not… I don’t believe your reply had a whole lot to do with any of what I was saying…

Your post looked pretty sweeping to me regardless of scale:

As with literally everything Horizon touches-they absolutely ruined Losi/TLR… Hard pass from me on anything TLR

I don’t disagree with the view you have on the 1/8th scale buggies. I wanted to bring some attention toward the smaller buggies – which Phend also has successfully raced – since TLR is not, in my opinion, completely ruined.

I see a way back into the game for TLR but obviously I have no crystal ball or power over their decisions. I’m just speculating and throwing one point of view into the mix here, no intent to shove your opinions aside.

They should re re a xxt or xxxt change my mind

But 1 1/4 months already into 2025 losi is just releasing boring fish animal monster trucks like that's not what your customers want. That's HH's biggest issue, listening to their customers.

from what iv heard wHorizon doesn't have the molds for the XX platforms so a rerelease would require all new tooling, which means high cost and some R&D. not sure the demand for the XX platform is there. they're cool, but not really iconic in the same way the RC10 was. we'll probably never see a rerelease.
and the XXX platform is just to new. (feels weird saying a 25 year old car is to new)

I LOVE that they are building something to attract younger R/Cers but I agree, straight up race quality needs to be availible too.
I really believe the issue is $. Obviously Losi (and other) could build an ultimate race truck/buggy but once its built, no hop up parts to sell, no broken parts to replace etc... so they sell us junk and make us pay, part by part, to build what they refuse to.
I think the answer is to stop buying kits and start buying parts.

Horizon is the Google of RC imo. They want you to buy their cars, their radios, bodies, batteries... they want you buy into a 1984 Orwellian RC universe. That 'smart' radio is just another chunk of google spyware.
The only way Horizon is going to listen to its customers is thru the microphone on that POS radio.

Oh on that iSXR that should have came with a camera and Bluetooth? 🫠🤣

They would have the money IF they continued to make kits in the first place and not discontinue them and continuously update them. And if they did that and actually helped their old pro race team then they wouldn't had been under so much. That's just my view it it.

My last three builds have been from sliders purchased off an Ebay chop shop. None of which have been Losi yet.

Did trade for a XXXS roller for parts back 2018 with the intent of building it into a rallye car. Sourced the repair parts off Ebay and didn't dislike the car. Just didn't have the ground clearance I need for on-road/rallye. More of a smooth surface improved road course chassis. Ended up selling it on Ebay, but a re-re on the platform might be a good entry level on-road circuit car. -AC

try the Street Weapon. there was a rally version called the, get this, Rally Weapon. and it was a solid car for its time.

I think you're right. I think they caught on to the idea that once a bullet proof car is built, there isn't a need to stray unless it starts loosing or you can't buy parts... since they won't build better cars, discontinuing parts was their business plan.
I believe that backfired.
I stopped buying AE because of their parts dept. and discontinuing cars.
The 6.3 I bought was so I had something to race but I'd have been better off waiting for that RB7.5 you posted I think.
ALL of the discontinued parts combined with buggies that need upgrades out of the box in order to not suck is what pushed me to just restoring my old cars in the first place.
I have plenty of old rc's that need money and parts put in. Why do I want to buy new one that needs the exact same things?

Does anyone know what the purpose of that Rectum Ixrsixrslxis pos radio is?
A fancy color screen and it plays videos? I try to keep my eyes on my car when I'm running it. I don't carry the radio around with me if I'm not running so...???
Bluetooth will still get them a location on every spyw... err radio they made. If Google is involved, so is tracking. ☹️
Its a very expensive version of the same pos they've been making for 15 years but it has a new screen and a fancy new box!!! 🤣
Maybe they will try and do like cell phone did.
You used to have to pay extra for a cell phone with a camera. Now you have to pay extra to buy one without a camera! 🙄
I still can't figure out who or what they built the radio for. 🤣🤣🤣

Hopefully Horizon has a bot that will read this one day. 🤣

6.3 is still a great car! Also not to mention the RB7.5 is a new new new totally new release that just came out so. Even though it looks super pretty.

When I told my uncle losi discontinued their whole 1/10 kit lineup besides the 2 and 4 buggies he was super surprised

My associated, with the b74.1 I can still get parts for it, mostly everywhere or anywhere and .2 (and .2 CE edition) parts are cross compatible even though some design differences. The 2wd series with the B6, not totally sure but heard some parts aren't cross compatible between the B7 and the B6.4 for example (ie someone trying to update their car a bit to newer tech without getting a whole new kit)

The guy I bought the B6 from told me that the front end of the B7 was different and that he'd been considering keeping both cars. He wasn't sure about the new design.
I haven't seen a new one so I have no opinion here.
At least AE is making changes based on input from their drivers and not based on the boardroom stockholders 'ideas' for a new buggy!!! 🤣

True! B7 is the most popular for 2wd off-road currently. Next up would be X-ray with the xb2. Cause the main fight is between Spencer (associated) and Dakotah (X-ray) when I watch some big races.

Idk why it auto corrects Xray to X-ray. 🤦🫠

Because google knows better than you what you are trying to say... now just sit back and let google win all your rc races🤣

I love watching the big races but I also know I'll never be up there with them so I try to keep that in mind when I buy my stuff. Not gonna be competing with them so prob not ultra important that I buy the 'new' radio thats .028 ms faster than last year's model.

I wish PR Racing was bigger. Their cars and race programs look really good to me. Even the S1 RM looks like a fun buggy to run! 😎
They seem like a racer's brand of car to me. 👍

Yeah PR Racing looks very nice. A few locals run for them at the local dirt track but I never seen a PR racing label on the shelf at the shops so that kinda takes me away from them. Same with kyosho, looks very nice and looks very competitive but I like to have spares available on the shelf. That's why associated seems to be most popular because of support and actually listening to their users.

Hopefully HH with Losi and TLR do something good by the summer time.

I ran Kyosho when no one carried parts. There was a guy a few towns over that had a 'hobby shop' in his garage. He raced Kyosho too so I had access to the BEST Kyosho parts availible!
Kyosho is carried by a few pretty big shops like amain too...
PR seems kind of on its own... THAT is what worries me about PR.
If I get back into racing seriously I might take another look at them. 😎
Maybe I'll open a hobby shop in MY garage... 🤔

reverse engineering or for the love of god they could but old ones back and use those to redue the molds
