I don't think Losi is the same company it was before they got bought out.
I would LOVE to see them rerelease a JRX2 but I'm terrified it will be a buggy body on an Arrma Gorgon chassis!
I HOPE Losi pulls away from that conglomerated mess.
Losi cars were SO NICE! ❤️

I think the glory days are gone. Now that HH has their grips on it, unless of course HH starts sinking and sells the name to say a group of actual hobbyists. You know, the same way Losi was founded, LOL. Nothing wrong with hoping right?😉🍻

R/C is a tough racket too. I feel like there aren't a lot of ppl actually interested in getting on a track.
Then there's mini's, 1/14, 1/12, 1/10, 1/8... indoor is winter and 1/10 around here. So there's that but its so divided and further by buggy, truggy, sct, mod, stock.......
It has to be tough to meet all those needs.
If Horizon was smart, they'd make Arrma bash only, losi could be buggy only... each company, a brand that was just AMAZING at ONE THING!
They own like 50 companies... they CAN afford to specialize!
Cheap mass production and interchanging diffs that fit ALL 3s-6s, ALL control arms...
We end up with 12 body versions on 3 different chassis. There IS no difference.
I can paint bodies too. Stickers are cheap!
I thought Associated was going to take the world by storm! If they re-released the RC10 with parts support and give ppl some incentive to actually run them, retro class would be HUGE!
I did NOT buy Associated because of the parts dept.
I don't have any issues buying Kyosho parts for cars from the exact same era. (In fairness, og optima parts aren't all avail from kyosho either) My interaction with Associated parts was enough to send me elsewhere.
I can't see why a company was selling new parts or old, new buggies or old would even care so long as something is selling!

Losi needs to go back to being Team Losi and being aimed at being a race brand. 1/8, 1/10, maybe mini/micros, on road, off road. race cars. if they want to release some basher oriented stuff under the name fine, but it should be high quality and somewhat race oriented. LMT for example. it's a basher but the scale monster truck racers like them. all the basher stuff should be under one of the other company's wHorizon ownes.
iv got a feeling what they're trying to do is structure themselves like GM. have a tiered system ie. Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Cadillac.

in AE's case i think its a matter of them not wanting the rereleases to bite into sales of the newer race cars while also trying to force buyers hands into buying the kit instead of restoring there old cars. it's a peepee move. and I'm sure they would have made more money had they just supported the stinking things. they failed to realize not all of us can or are willing to pay almost $400 for a new kit when our old car needs $60 worth of parts. so instead of selling us something, they sold us nothing.

They haven't release any new kits for a long time. Well in 10th scale I am aware of.
They discontinued their stadium truck and short course platforms so maybe might have a come back.
Sorry, you may be too young for my bit of gif sarcasm... Charlton Heston and the Planet of the Apes movie. If you haven't seen it... make a point to watch it. Humans (HH) don't always make the best decisions. I don't want to spoil the ending for you. 🦍🦧🐵

Take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!

I haven't seen that in years. Great movie. The 1968 version that is.

I had a Team Losi JRX Pro 30 years ago. I’ve seen more recent TLR buggies and they are nothing short of IFMAR Worlds winning tier. I think they also proved it not long ago.

To my understanding, Losi was never supposed to be the continuation to Team Losi, but a spin-off of RTR cars with the benefit of having been designed by folks who know how to build a proper race car. ”Race Inspired” as they put it.

I have a Tenacity SCT and quality-wise it’s comparable to something like the Pro2 SC10 from AE: you can see quite clearly how the form comes from racing, but certain things have been simplified or the materials changed to reduce production costs. Don’t expect a Team Losi but notice it doesn’t have the price tag of one, either.

TLR has the opportunityto make themselves stand out with the "race push".
If they actually follow thru and start making racing fun again, I'll be very happily surprised. If this is a marketing ploy... blah, but I won't be shocked.

I don't necessarliy expect a race track quality kit to be cheap.
I do expect that its not going to need $500 in upgrades to make it something that can actually compete too.
I think TLR could build and sell top level race "xyz's" and do very well on the market.

Here's to hoping! 🍻

Hope to see some new releases. 22 6.0 2wd buggy? New stadium truck or potentially mini truggy? Hopefully they bring back a short course with the SCTE 4.0!!??? #makeshortcoursegreatagain

Yep, it'd be a most awesome day to see a TEN-SCTE 4.0 rise up and happen. I don't know who all is running the show over at Horizon Hobby, but I sure hope they listened to some of online chatter that's said about them. They gotta pick up the pieces and get back on track.

I hope they figure things out for all of our sakes.

I used to be on Team Lousy. Now I'm on Team Assassinated (that is what they were called back in the day by the local bros. Derogatory terms for sure, for smiles, of course.)

It's been a while. I was surprised to see Losi (Lousy?) didn't have a racer I'd buy. Yeah, they dumped a bunch of money into a RC motorcycle which is expensive and questionable, if you ask me. And even sponsored an MX pro rider (that's moto cross. Tons of money there) Losi logo is on his jersey. I forget his name, but like really?

I assume as a brand and company they are trying to branch out. But for me? Give me an JRXT/LXT (I'm a truck kinda racer). Kit. 1/10. Maybe even include a body. That'd be great. Why not? Maybe not enough demand? IDK

Mini's can kinda go to H E double hockey stick. Speaking from experience of trying to replace an a-arm and shock on one. And you know something is up when HH is doing a 2 for 1 sale on the mini jrx2's. Which I totally bought into. Now? See the H E double hockey stick reference.

I fell for the Horizon Hype during Arrmageddon sale.
I won't be making any more "fast" purchases like that again.
I saw a price that I just COULDN'T pass up... HUGE RED FLAG!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Others had warned... 😖

I get the feeling Horizon will try to follow Associated's lead with the vintage stuff. But bringing Losi back to the podium is not something I expect Horizon to be able to pull off, like ever. They are slowly turning themselves into the maker of cheap plastic RC cars for the masses. I just don't see them bringing out anything race grade that anybody will buy to compete with the big boys. Even if they do slap their acquired Losi branding on it. It would be like Kia buying Ferrari and moving manufactiring to Korea. It's never going to be a Ferrari again.

Seems like HH wants to buy as many RC companies as possible. I hope they don’t get their claws into brands like Team Associated or Tekno. I’d hate to see nice rigs get “cheapened up”.

This has been mentioned before I’m sure but I must have missed it : does HH own Traxxas and Arrma?

Arrma yes, but not Traxxas. I don't foresee Tekno or even Associated being snatched up by the conglomerate any time soon. They have such a strong foothold in racing, I can't imagine those two having any financial difficulties, which is when Horizon swoops in with dollar signs on the brain.

So that’s what they do? They (HH) sees a company with a financial hardship and they make them an offer they can’t refuse? And by doing so , part of the deal is that HH gets to make all kinds of changes as they see fit. Who knew RC was such a cutthroat business.

Oh, boy. I can almost see how this thread is going to tip toe towards.

Let's not forget who owns Team Associated.
