Super cheap nitro to electric conversion

Do you have something holding that battery up on the xxx-nt? I'd be afraid of it hitting the pinion.

I re-invigorated my interest in my jato recently by converting it to brushless. Sat on a shelf for more than 2 years without being driven. Just got tired of the fussy trx2.5r in it, that I put in new 8 years ago.

A xxx-nt was my first real RC, bought new back around 2000. Had a nitro MT too in 2004 I think. Both were pretty fragile. The XXX-NT liked breaking shock towers, arms and the diff gear. The NMT liked chewing up spurs and arms. Guessing you know both of that by now though! LOL!

I also have an old XXX-NT I'm looking to convert but having trouble with finding a motor mount. Mind sharing the parts information you used in your conversion to help a brother out?

i used something like this. nothin fancy. gotta drill out and mount with nuts and bolts but i havent had any issues with it

oh yea and it is very tight against that brace. so gota like mount the motor before you mount it to the body and then adjust mesh or i thought about making a new brace but i never did

i just realized that my last post is for my losi xxxnt not the hpi nitro mt. you will have to cut the spur housing on this to get the pinion to mesh with the spur. pic to follow
