Hey guys. Just got back.
Ol' Lady hasn't been feeling good the last couple of days, so we left early.
Thought I would post a few pics.

This Der Jager has got me wanting to start building again. :)
I'll post a couple more later.

Sweet Digger!

You boys say what ya want about WV....But that's beautiful country right there!!!

Mr T:fro:

Nice pics digger. Looks like you had a great turnout.

What engine powered that red helicopter? It looks huge!

Yeah Mr. T, it is beautiful country! Not bad for a cow pasture. :)

SD, don't know what powered the helicopter. Cool though ain't it?
Had one heli self destruct there yesterday. .60 size or so. Wasn't looking at the time. Heard something that sounded like a mid-air and looked up to see parts falling. They said a main rotor blade had broke. Guy was a hell of a pilot.

The Der Jager really turned my crank. I have got a set of plans for one. 64" wing span? That has got me thinking of dragging them out and looking over them again.

Here was, in my opinion the best looking plane there.

I missed out on seeing it fly.
Worried about the 'Ol Lady, so we weren't there but a couple of hours.
Had a great time and got to see a lot of good friends though.

great set of pictures, looks like a fun time.

I need to post pics of my yet to be assembled F4U. Thing is massive. I plan to make it electric. One day.

I had a blast, guys.

Haven't seen a lot of my friends for a year or two. Was good to see them.
They usually smoke a ham. It's awesome.
I was worried about the wife this time so we didn't stay long.

Got the "clili-fly" next month. Be a hell of a meal at the landfill. :)

Sweet lil fly in there digger them are some really nice planes sitting there on the deck, we just held our fun fly this last weekend at the local airfield, first time I've enter a contest like this one and managed to walk away taking first in the event, what a blast i had.

where is the field & how do i get there ? do i have to have the club membership to just visit & fly ? i do have the ama card......#832522......i build & fly mostly WW2 planes but have a twist with a 46fx engine for riping the sky when i wana go all out.......

Where are the pics, Itsme? Are you back into flying? Get off that damn bike and into the air! Used to be a guy at our field that would bring one in his saddle bags.

Speed, little far for ya to drive isn't it? Come on out. As long as your in the AMA.

I want to get back in it guys. I still have 3 planes I could fly.
3 or 4 kits started.
Got enough wood to scratch-build a couple.
Thinking of posting some pics of a build.

Yep i could'nt resist the urge to get in the air so i went and purchased a Hobbico 60 Trainer and havent looked back this plane makes flying a breeze to pick up, here are a couple pix of it and some of the other planes at the event.

That Eindecker looks familar. One at our fly in too. All of us are doing the same color scheme. :hehe:

Glad you got back into it bro. .60 is a nice size aircraft. Good luck with it.

Yeah after hanging out at the field and meeting the locals i just had to give it another shot, man am i sure glad i did I've had some great times already and look forward to more, like i said this .60 Hobbico makes it easy to learn to fly i just soloed last monday and I'm already doing stall spins, flat spins, inside loops, outside loops, inverting flying etc...

Sometimes the people are as enjoyable as the hobby.

Then there are always a few know-it-alls too. Doesn't take long to weed them out though.
I'll be back into it before long. Got too much money invested to quit. :)

Glad you tried it again bro. Sounds like you are having a hell of a time. Good luck.

Thanks digger, there are a lot of older gentlemen there, who have fought in WWII and Veitnam so listening to there first hand experiences just captivates my mind and keeps me coming back for more, plus everyone of them are more then willing to give you a hand or advice on how to do something better, just a great group of guys to hang with, i can't wait to step into my next plane, its either going to be a Extra 260 an Edge 540 or a Something Extra 300 I'm ready to do some serious flying now!

Lot's of .60 size aircraft out there bro. When ya get bored or get cocky with the trainer. Either way, you have everything but the airframe.

I love the stories. I've been in the hobby for about 10 years. Listening to some of the guys talk is great. The first radios, push a button once to go one way, twice to go another? It amazes me how far it has come since I have been in it.

Yeah there is definately a great selection of aircraft out there to choose from, we just had our last pylon race last night and a couple of the guys were asking if i was going to do it next year, i said yes so i guess over the winter months i will be building an AT-6 Texan and possible a Quickie that both run OS .15 mills, pylon racing is fun and exciting you get three or four planes out there at one time, man your in for a treat. I'm also going to build a Combat plane for next season, like a Gremlin or a Zagi style wing man I'm all into this flying thing now!!!
