So all I did was post 2 items on my local craigs list. A honda xr400 witch is my old dirt bike, and my bmx bike. I guess I goofed up putting my email on there, because now I'm getting spam like crazy, and its not being filterd and, its going in my inbox. Its really geting anoying. Is there any way to stop it? I am really getting pissed. Dont people have lives, or they just like to try to send viruse and BS threw emails. I wish I could catch one of these punks, id well, they'd eat threw a straw lol. I'm so pissed. Anyone else have a situation close, what did you do? I'm thinking about pulling the add, or just leaving my phone number.

You can install more filters or turn your regular filter up, but the problem is, it will start filtering your good email and you'll have to watch the junk filter. I mark the junk that I get as junk, so it knows to filter it, and now I don't get much at all, and that's just with a free web mail service hotmail. Well almost free, I think I paid 20 bucks for the premium.

You should have gotten a free mailbox through Yahoo or something else, and you'll NEVER see any spam get through your personal mailbox. When you've sold the items, close the account, or just do a wholesale delete on everything in there if you need it again.

I'm going to look right now to see if I can turn up the filter. I can't get any real interists in my f-s items, except for spam. I thought I had one guy but it was a fonny to. Looks like ill be trying the penny savor to sell these things.

If you're getting alot of random spam from different companies, your Email account may be doomed. There are web bots out there that just search out addresses on the web and put them on mailing lists, which are then sold to companies. To stop all the spam you may need an entirely new account.

Well thats just F-in great. Talk about a great way to top off a shity day, oh wait theres still work! Everything I have is set up with this account, now this really is a low blow!

Well don't freak out just yet. Wait about a week to see if the spam stops. Make sure you add all spam you get to the spam folder and the filter will eventually start filtering it all. My Yahoo account gets almost no spam and I have yet to encounter a problem with false spam, even after 4 or 5 years of having the account.

That's kind of odd, Bryson. I've sold a number of things on craigslist and never encountered spam before and I use my "true" e-mail address when I post items. I know craigslist covers your address, so I'm wondering if there's more going on with your e-mail address (like Cupooterluvr mentions) than just craigslist.
