I'm trying to get him running, but I'm running out of time right now. I have an appointment in 45 minutes, and I have to bail on this one.
Matty, I'll get back on this thread when I get back. Sorry for the interruption.

I have to run, but open it one full turn, and see what it does. I'll get back to this thread in a couple of hours.

great thanks alot rolex. ill catch you around later and ill update you on what happened with the HSN up one full turn

good luck matty.....i know how you feel... like i told you rolex got me going and i was going crazy with getting my truck tuned...you will get it

its starting to come around. but when it was starting to go i accidently pushed the fuel line into the flywheel and it ripped. so i gotta go down to the hobby shop to get another fuel line. i think I'm onto something though. I'm pretty sure that i got my LSN down. and my idle. but its definetly getting really hot. so I'm gonna pick up a temp gun when I'm there too. ill let you guys know later what happened. thanks again for all the help =]

Okay, we're closing in on it. Definitely pick up a temp gun while you're there. It makes it so much easier to zero in on the proper tune.
I'll catch up with you here a little later, then.

man i am glad to hear you are getting it.. man its tricky for us noobs to get tunning figured out.but once you get it you will be good to go.i learn more every day just by reading all the forums

There's a magic spot that both needles need to hit, and when I'm right there, listening to the engine, or making the adjustments, it rarely takes more than 10 minutes. This is a slow process, through a forum, but as long as people ONLY do what I say, without moving anything else, I know what step to take them to next.

i told matty i was in the same boat as him and you got me running thank you again rolex.he will get it as long as he does what you say:bow:

if they don't have an affordable temp gun, I noticed Harbor Freight has several models in the 20 dollar range.

When I first started reading through the forums about tuning I was stumped. But I started following when Rolex would help other guys, while staying up all night many times to read articles on tuning, and now it seems like it almost comes natural. I still have to ask a lot of questions and Rolex helps me a lot, but I'm proud to say of all the problems I have, finding the tune has not been one of them lately. And it's because guys like Rolex take the time to explain stuff so I understand why things happen like they do.

I'm glad to hear that, nitrogator. Once you get to that point, it shouldn't take more than a tiny tweak on the HSN to compensate for temp and humidity, and as long as you keep track of where it was, and which way you moved it, and how the performance changed, you'll do alright.

i got a HPI temp gun and soma 4 feet of extra fuel line and some other goodies. i got it all together just in time for a nice thuderstorm. great. but thanks everyone for caring so much that I'm getting my car up and going.

going to start fresh in the morning. I'm pretty close though on my LSN. I'm gonna wake up early and get crackin on it. ill let you all know how it goes for sure. i was quite busy cleaning out my car from the rain storm that i left my windows open in.

I'm sure ill prob need some help on it in the morning

Since it sounded like it was running better with the HSN richened up, well get the LSN fine tuned tomorrow. If nothing we did to the LSN helped, it was because the HSN was starving the flow. Now that you have a temp gauge it will really help to get it right.

If it starts and keeps running, let it idle till it's warmed up. With the nose against something solid, start to slowly trigger the throttle and see if it wants to pull. Adjust the LSN in small increments, till it powers up. First to the rich side, and if it gets weak, turn it to the lean. When it's making power, put it on the ground and test it. If it's not running well at WOT, adjust ONLY the HSN.
