NOPE. same old crap. start, stall...start stall...... :sigh: =[

i think I'm gonna give up and get a different engine once i get some cash. this thing is such a waist of time and effort

I just dont want you to buy a new engine and have the same problem. Have you thought about sending your RC to one of the veterans here to let them get it running for good for you. I know there's some people here than you can trust and that will do it for almost nothing.

dont give up its something that you can figure out with the help of every one here its going to work.

hmm i didnt know that anyone would do that for me. but i dont think i would put my headache in someone elses hand haha i would feel bad. i guess you guys convinced me to give at it a few more days. if i still can't get it done. I'm really considering getting a new engine. at least i know from tower hobby that it will come preset with a 2 year warranty. my girlfriend seen me get so upset about it she said she would spring for it since its not to exspensive. i might as well jump on the oppertunity while its available.
but ill def give it another shot tomorrow. i tried so hard all day to get it going that i ran out a totally full glow ignitor charge.

Don't give up man, I ran into huge problems with mine and it seriously got to me but it came right and I was probably happier than I wuld have been if it was all plain sailing.
I'm guessing you have tried leaving the ignitor on for a while once it's started to get some heat into the engine and help it along a bit? Your totally on the right track coming to this website I'm sure if you keep at it one of the guys will crack it.

*****Always think of something else after I post - is there any tracks / bashing spots near to you where someone with experience can have a fiddle??

Once I get to the point you've reached I usually start trying to figure out how to get some help with it. I think 2000delux has a great idea. Maybe you can try the LHS. I know the guy that runs the one here loves it when people bring him something to figure out. Having a relationship with the guy at the LHS is a lot like how those of us who are into hot rods need to have a good friend at the parts counter. They can be so handy sometimes.

We need to start over.
First, when the engine is cold, how easy is it to turn the engine over by turning the flywheel by hand? Does it almost feel locked on the up stroke, or with a little pressure you can get it over the top?
There's not much that can go wrong here, so just stick with me. If it starts and runs, even if it stalls, it is close.
Let me know about the compression and we'll go to the next step.

Okay, you have good compression, so that's not the problem.
Is it a pull start or roto, and do you have someone that can crank it while you make adjustments?

When I deal with a stubborn engine, I have the owner do the starting while I have a screwdriver on the LSN.
When it starts, does it idle and stall when you do nothing, or does it stall when you twitch the trigger?

most of the time it has trouble staying started on its own. but when it does stay started it usually dies within one minute when I'm giving it some gas

Turn your LSN 1/4 turn in, or lean, and tell me what it does.

By the way, since we're trying to do this in real time, keep refreshing or reloading the page to bring up my response. Just trying to speed things up since I have to leave soon.

same thing. it literally stays started for 2 seconds the dies

and thanks alot for helping man. i appreciate this. but if ya gotta go do something ill be here later.

Okay, that's too rich, then. Turn it in 1/4 to where it was.
Now close the HSN and count the turns, then reopen it to where it was, and tell me what it was set at.

Good Luck Mattyfats, I really hope that things work out for you today. I'm having my own lil frustrating problems over here. You've got an expert witness on the case now though and he will stick around until you get it right. Thanks Ralph, for spending the time it takes to work with us noobs and help us get things figured out!
