Hey guys. I have just set up my Losi Mega Baja (aftershock) and because it came with 75mhz receiver (illegal in australia) I decided to fit 2.4ghz in it.
I have a DX3R and put my SR3100 receivers in it but after binding when I turn her on the steering maxes out to the right and loads up the servos. The epa's are on 100% and trim is centred at 50/50. The servo's are JR Z590M, which obviously come with the car, and I'm at a loss.
Are the servo's compatible with the digital system, surely it shouldnt make a difference, or is there something I'm missing, or do I have a more serious problem?
Please throw some ideas at me please....

I was looking for a thread that was up within the last few days, but I couldn't find it. There's a setting you need to change on the radio, depending what servos you use. Either digital or analog, but I don't recall what it was.
If you have the manual, check that. If not, someone will come up with the info for you.

Ralph, are you referring to the HRS and PCM modes? If you are, he's saying that HRS can only be used with digital servos, and if you use it with analog servos, it could fry them, but I have no idea if it would cause the problems that you're describing or not.

Oh I do remember an issue we had when I was at the LHS a few days ago. For some reason, if you're using a spektrum system, you have to use a 3 wire electrical system So you can't use the standard 2 wire switch, you have to use the switch that comes with the radio that has 3 wires. When we called customer service, the first thing they asked the guy at the shop was if the ENTIRE electrical system was made up of 3 wires. When the guy told them the switch had 2, he said that was the problem. We changed the switched, and everything worked fine.

Yes Charlie. It is only a 2 wire system, from battery/switch/ switch/receiver. I dont understand why thats a problem but in this hobby logic has no relevence. I'll look into it, thanks....

That sounds about right, Charlie. I remember "Fry" was in a post.

I took my M11 to HobbyTown today to get a NiMH batt pack for it, and when it came to plugging in the connector, it had arrows going either way and the word OKAY. That meant it was not a problem no matter which way the plug went. Red is in the center, and both outside pins were neg. White had no bearing on the battery connector.
Just strange. Made it more confusing than just a + and -.

Thanks guys. I have solved the problem in a bush mechanics, if not OBVIOUS way.
I pulled the servo horns off, did a rebind on the receiver to re-centre the servos and replaced everything. ALL GOOD.
Of course my trouble could have been avoided if the major R/C suppliers didnt ship cars with frequencies illegal in the end users country.. Its never happened to me before.
Anyway, thanks again......
