Spektrum smart esc

I’m having a problem with my programmer on my big rock. Everytime I try to hook upto the big rock with just the esc, it tells me I need a software update. So, I go and download the newest version. Still, no joy. As soon as I unhook from the pc, I can’t hook upto the programmer with just the esc.


I can make changes on the pc and send it to the esc. But, I can’t use my tuner box alone. It tells me I need a software update everytime. I have zero issues with the esc on my typhon.

Any ideas on what’s going on?

Have you updated both software/firmware on both the esc and program card?

If you did that, and they are all on the latest update (plus PC program) I have absolutely no clue.

I would contact spektrum and see what they say. But it is horizon so can't be so sure how the support would be.

I have seen that the Spektrum Updater App on the PC / Laptop has to be uninstalled & re installed then update the program box, & it works. Spektrum did an update to the App after the first of the year, bugs fixed.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the Spektrum desktop app.
