Hello everyone đź‘‹!
I'm working on a project and I plan to use the Spektrum Firma 130A Brushless Smart ESC, 2S-4S. After visiting the Spektrum website I noticed there was a Firma 130A Black Edition Brushless Smart ESC V2, 2S-4S listed as well, the price and specs are the same. Anyone know if there is indeed a difference between the two and if so what it is?

The Spektrum orange 130A ESC appears made for sensorless motors, as there is no sensor lead and it is shown in a combo with a sensorless motor.

The Black edition 130A ESC is made for sensored motors, coming with a sensor lead. Also the leads are not integral to the ESC. They are provided but will need soldering in place.

Site I looked at there was a $95 difference in price. The black edition being the more expensive. Hope this helps. -AC

Why go with the Spectrum and not a hobbywing for less?

Not knocking it, just curious. I was always under the impression that the spectrum ESC's were just locked down hobby wing systems with less programability.
You know that's a good question, I don't know much about Hobbywing so I will defiantly take a look!

If you aren't locked in to Spektrum yet... RUN!!!
I have a Spektrum 130a from Jennys.
Works fine etc. BUT for a few bucks more, could gave got HobbyWing and got a WAY better esc.
I have 3 Hobbywing escs and 4 motors now.
NOT going back to Spektrum.
