So who burned some nitro today?

So do I just suck at online searches or are M5 x 25mm turnbuckles nearly nonexistent now? I'd like to replace this one that I broke but I don't remember where I got it. The Kyosho manual shows these as plain threaded rods, so the OEM part won't replace what I have. Amain and others carry 25mm turnbuckles but with most listings, the diameter is unlisted and when it is, it's not 5mm. It's amazing how sparce product details are these days.

You could go with the XTM’s like @Lostinthewoods86 linked ya-provided the adjuster is in the correct spot.

Kyosho offers(offered) titanium, but they’re pretty damned proud of ‘em.. Tony’s Hobbies has one pack left. Personally I’d pass on that nonsense..

I run Acer Racing titanium turnbuckles on every buggy I own. They’re UBER-high quality stuff, the price is right @ $5.99 per turnbuckle, and they are guaranteed for life against bending, or breakage. I’ve yet to break one since I first ran them over 20yrs ago, and I punish my stuff.. You’d have to get the M5x35, and simply cut one end (or both-depending on where the adjuster needs to be in relation to the ends) with good ol’ Dr. Emel, or chuck it up in the lathe if you have a way to do it without thread damage.

Guarantee, as mentioned above..

Good luck! 🤘

I agree. Traxxas is the best. hpi and redcat are the worse.

I tried to help and spent a good bit of time searching for them. I’m assuming you saw the 4 million listing for 5x35. But, I too found no M5x25mm turnbuckles.

5 x 35 works fine as long as they don't look like this.

As long as each side is fully threaded, trimming 5mm off each end is trivial.

The Acer’s don’t look like that at 35mm. That’s what the one in the first screenshot I shared is. The second screenshot is a generic turnbuckle for the page I was on explaining the features/guarantee. I have done a TON of business with them. Feel free to send them an email before placing an order-they always respond within 24hrs.

I tried the baja again today. The closest I get to running decently is at an extremely lean setting. I've been driving with a 25:1 gas-oil ratio, will be trying almost 50:1 tomorrow.
Actually not fully nitro powered but imho close enough for the thread⛽

the FG was definetely the right car to bring🤩
After a year of not having driven both the FG and baja, I finally found out that all I had to do was lower the oil % of the fuel. I sticked to recommendations of 1:25, but it literally runs and tunes only properly at 1:50. The engine stays cool anyway.
I also brought the Schumacher rascal 1:16th and LRP shark 1/18th mini nitro buggies👍

I have two Schumacher rascals, this is the first time I ever ran this one. The HSN was three whole turns too rich but, after 15 mins of tuning, it'd never bog down anymore and still stay cool👍
I captured the last pass of its last tank

Fired up the 1/8 scale Exceed Mad Beast this morning. Fired right up and was running great until it was almost out of fuel. I gave it a half throttle blip and it ran away😳Fortunately I got it stopped before it hit anything. Transmitter batteries died. Note to self: Replace batteries 😝🤣

First hard tank through my recently finished revo build. Modified 3.3. It hasn’t grown it legs yet but my goodness this thing will run. It’s got 1 quart through it. Traxxas 20%
