Winter gave us our first break since December. Finally had temps in the 30’s and up. Allowing the melt to start. I finally got to complete the break in of my new hpi f4.6. This thing is a friggin’ animal!!
I bought this truck used. It had a dynamite .28 rtr 8t. The truck ran good. But, I found a big red cylinder and piston/conrod combo for $55. I figured it was worth a shot. Still left me looking.
So, I bought the f4.6 motor when I decided to send the dynamite to a modifier. Due to weather, it’s taken two months to get it broke in.
Wow, this thing is a monster. It’s so much more powerful then the 8t its literally night and day.
To those that’s run the hpi 4.6, how does it compare to other budget engines in performance? One thing about the snow was the opportunity to make some spending money.
I’ve only gotten 1 comparison of other motor options. I'm looking for experience from those that have it. Are other budget engines comparable in power to this f4.6?
