Wasn't today, but yesterday while I was at the doc, Breydon was making his first real flight with the Atom 2 that some guy down in Louisiana sent us. Breydon even scheduled his flight with the FAA and got approval before his flight 😁 Thanks broski. Breydon obviously loves it. My cousin confirmed next time Breydon is here they're going to one of his fun flying spots.
I missed this post. šŸ¤” very cool, nice clear videeo, wrong time of year to catch sun bathers but I see potential. 😜🤣 sorry thinking with Breydon's brain for a second there.

It's one of the only redeeming qualities of my neighborhood. Right in the flight path of the local airbase. With the new GPS tech you can't launch or fly a drone anywhere near my place without written permission from the base for a specified date and time.

Do a lot of sun bathing do ya? 😜

We are in controlled airspace here. In range of two airports and a Marine facility. You simply request permission, mark your flight area and height and sumbit the request. It comes back in seconds for us.

I am sure height is a major consideration.
400 feet max. I doubt he ever goes near that height with it. That's a long ways up. I'm actually surprised we can fly that high. Airplanes from the local airport fly over all the time much lower than that.

They come in real low here.....I would rather have the trains in the back from my last location

Oh, you live AT the airport šŸ˜„

Yeah, we're on the outer edge of the controlled airspace of the larger airport nearby. The little airport north of me is just a couple miles or so away, and they apparantly have no controlled airspace around it.

I used to work near our local airport here.

F16's used to fly out of the base and turn and shoot right over us multiple times per day. We made aerospace parts, so it was kinda cool. Our previous location for about a year was inside the airport in a hanger. During Desert Shield the airport saw nearly every kind of military aircraft you can imagine. A C130 showed up one day and it was shooting landings all day long. Taking off and landing. They were running about a 14 mile diameter loop just to turn the thing around to line back up for the runway. We figured that out because they were taking off when we went to lunch and flew over us 14 mile away at the Mexican joint we went to. I loved being around all that. But I wouldn't want to live under that noise. I feel for ya.

I knew what it was before I moved in. It was on the cons side of the list....but there was enough other things going for it we came anyway.

What??? 🤫

I lived in Vegas not far from Nellis AFB.
It wasn't next door but when those jets came by, the whole valley shook! The fighters were loud!

I was in a commercial airliner, one time in Hawaii, waiting to take off. A couple of modern fighter jets took off in the runway about 150yd away, and, man, it was loud from even inside our closed airliner!

Any closer and it would have blown the wings right off your plane! 😲

When the F16's took off here, a lot of them would gun it and as soon as the tires left the ground they would shoot straight up in the air. I mean, perpendicular to the earth kinda straight up. I didn't even know they could do that. It never got old watching them do that because it looked insane. And inside the noisy machine shop with thick insulated concrete walls, it was still ridiculously loud.

I had a loud bluetooth speaker in my toolbox. One evening I had "Danger Zone" queued up and waited til I heard one coming down the runway. I blasted that song and the whole shop busted out laughing.

That's called a combat takeoff, training for short runways when deployed in combat zones. Our local Air National Guard used to fly F-16's then Transitioned to F-15's and they are all awesome to watch when doing this. šŸ˜
