So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

Got the Rovan out today… started on the second pull and break in went without a hitch. Never got above 3/4 throttle since it’s still being broken in, but this thing is pretty crazy with 19/55 gearing and I still haven’t even hit wide open throttle. Not slow at all like the internet said it was going to be.

I am hooked… no other RC besides a smelly and loud 2 stroke 1/5 scale will satisfy me ever again.

I'll say it again, it isn't a nitro. Let it warm up and idle on its own while revving it, it will really only idle for a minute or less because it will flood with oil. Revving it blows some excess oil out. Once warm just give er the onions while tuning man. You gotta beat it n seat it. It's a 2-stroke weed whacker engine, and they love WOT.

I'll say it again, it isn't a nitro. Let it warm up and idle on its own while revving it, it will really only idle for a minute or less because it will flood with oil. Revving it blows some excess oil out. Once warm just give er the onions while tuning man. You gotta beat it n seat it. It's a 2-stroke weed whacker engine, and they love WOT.

I'm familiar with 2-strokes, much larger ones, but 2-strokes none the less. I wouldn't say I went through a complicated "break in procedure." I just wanted to give this Chinese poo box of an engine the best chance it could have. I did one 15 minute heat cycle and took it easy for that first tank. Next tank I can assure you, it's getting treated like a $2 hooker and it's gonna sing.

Today I ran 2 3s 5800's through the traxxas disruptor, checking on whether those 6 38 special wadcutters glued in the transom settled down the chine walk (they did) jumped a few wakes..
Ran some 4s 5000-5800 through it yesterday..I need to setup quad trim tabs..parts incoming.

Possibly underpowered and probably overgeared, Bandit Midget Conversion made its track debut yesterday. To its credit, no adverse handling issues. Set up is basically neutral, she still likes turning left better than right. P-L Hole Shot tires all around. 2.2in buggy fronts and ST rears. 2s x 5000 LiPo with rules spec 60% THR set in.

Bandit TQ'd the Las Vegas qualifier, so its 4min:04sec 16 + 16 lap runs stand as fast time on the Champ Car tri-oval for now. -AC

I haven't been interested at all in my RCs for the last year or so but the last few days
I've been eyeballing my Baja 5b. I may fire it up tomorrow and do some tuning on her.
Heck I might ever fire both of them up. I do have some weeds to pull in my back lot.
