I live in a snow globe, never stops once it starts.

No, not the yard as the snow is a few feet by mid winter. Ill have to stick to the street.

I snowblow my yard for the dog, us and RCs. Otherwise it would be too deep here too.

I'd run stock tires.

If one were to get creative , they could make a nice track in the backyard with jumping spots and so on, out of snow.

Buy a cheap set of tires and stud your own for the icy roads.

M2x10mm bolt, make sure you have a washer in both sides of the tire and lock-tight the nut

might be a good idea to gear down when running in snow as well, just to keep motor temps in check since i don't think ambient temps will be enough to cool the motor

I run some of my rc's year round. However I don't run them on treated (salt) surfaces as the salt rusts things really fast.. I suppose you could throw it in the tub and give it a bath afterwards? I don't think my wife would appreciate it though, so I just leave them in the cold garage until "next time"..
They, the manufacturers, claim waterproof electronics but they're more like splash proof. I have lost a few esc's and motors to snow bashing over the years. The motors didn't seem to mind, until the bearings got washed out and I didn't re-oil them in time to keep them happy.
As to overheating, I never had a problem as long as there was enough snow..

As to which tires, for snow I like the meatiest knobbies (or paddles) I can get. Ice is a different animal, drill point sheet metal screws work well but need to be installed from the inside or they just get flung out. Also don't like pavement, dulls the crap out of them quick.. I'm down in Albany NY area. We don't get the snow we used too sadly. I have a daughter that lives just outside Tug Hill, that's a freaking snow globe! They don't measure in inches but rather in feet.. crazy!
