i am tringto remove a good piston and sleeve from a S25 i have heated it to 300 deg and this damn thing will not budge
PLEASE HELP !!!!!

shove TnT down there...light and RUN....pics please......

if it's that tight you got a big issue.......try tearing it all down and soaking it in ARO.....300* should just drop it right out....try removing the crank and see if you can give it a helper push from the bottom.....stuff paper in there and pry it up....sounds pretty F'd though

easy the piston down and put a plastic stick or something soft in there (softer then copper) and then crank the piston back up.. should push it out

its tore down to the bare case with just the p/s and crank i can not ge tthe piston out with out removing the sleeve right???
and i have tried zip ties and nothing will move it ,just cuts the ends in 1/2 on the ties

my other case the sleeve popped right out ,this one is being a total PITA

Mine came out with the zip tie. Was a pita, too. Try a larger zip tie or 2 or 3 of them? That way when ya turn te crank it has more to cut?

Maybe freeze the engine for a day or so. Then heat the case. Trying the zip tie???? Good luck.

becasue the case has a leaking front bearing and the other case is like brand new
digger did you heat it first?
i thought about freezing it then hitting it with heat ,make the case hotter quicker then the sleeve

just swap out the bearings. You can take the conrod off of the crank and push the bearing out then put the bearing from the other mill into it. Save you a big headache!

I got mine out with two big wire ties just grab the crankshaft by the threads with pliers and turn that thing until it goes up just a bit. As soon as you get a gap betweent the sleeve and crankcase, take a small screwdrive and evenly, and gently pry the sleeve out.

Didn't have to heat mine. Did just like bustedgears, but I left the flywheel on.

lol.not sure i want to say
well i seen the case was cracked right at the left motor mount, so it was junk reguardless,i just stuff towels into the sleeve and carb hole and carefully cut the case in half with a dremel cut-off wheel and opened it and took the piston and sleeve out ,
kinda crued but it is out and still good and in the other case with out a problem ,
but anyway its going back together

Damn bro, ya wanted that sleeve pretty bad.

I got a S-25 laying on the table. Wanting to take it apart to port it. Hope it comes apart as easy as the last one.

i haven't a clue why it was so flippin' hard to get out ,all i did with the first was heated it in the oven to about 250 degree's and it slid right out ,
the second was a PITA bigtime ,has excellent compression but the kid i got my savy from never EVER cleaned it and the case for 1 had about 1/8th of baked on crud it was like tring to clean a brick ,and when i did get some off i noticed the crack in the block so i said screw it and just dremeled it and split the case .
i tried everything to remove the sleeve with out damaging anything ,heat the tapping it on a oven mit ,heat then 1 then 2 then 3 zipties ,freezing it for about 4 hours then flash heat with a small propane torch .nothing worked
i can not believe it had the compression it does after lookingat the heatsink 1 gallon of fuel and the first 3 rings are real light pink the it goes gradially to the purple from original ,so it must have been run extremely hot a few times to do that kind of damage to the head
i dbl check the compression and with all 3 shims you can not turn it over with 1 finger
so anyway i will stop rambling on, but figured a long post then a lot of smaller 1's

i know i can safely remove 1 shim ,but i was saying it has excellent compression now so i will leave it alone
