Just wanted to know if there was anyone that has converted the Slayer Pro to a Revo. I converted everything over but now I'm having gearing issues.

Your gonna have to either replace the gears in the transmission or replace the transmission with the one for the Revo they slayer trans isn't geared for the larger wheels and tires.

Really why did you convert it? I thought about converting the other way....from a Revo to a Slayer ...lol. But yeah the gearing would be all off. I am sure the Slayer was higher geared for smaller tires.

Do you know if the differential gearing are the same between the Slayer Pro and the Revo ? I converted it to a Revo because I am more into the Monster Trucks and the Slayer Pro tires have no grip. I tried changing out to other tires that had more grip. Slayer Pro is a very nice truck for short course racing but when I take Slayer Pro to the sand quarry or other places of that nature it's more of a donut machine than anything else. So I decided to convert it towards the Revo, changed to the Revo a-arms and such, Revo tires, got the big block engine mount kit to install the Dynamite Mach-26 but I haven't been sure about the gearing, or if the transmission, or differentials were different.

Pretty sure the diffs are the same. The slayer runs the wide ratio gear set in the trans. I changed mine to the standard ratio, then later changed everything to RRP steel. Since I run a BB, was having a hard time keeping gears in the trans.

I know some guys run the wide ratio with big blocks, but IMHO, the gap is so wide between 1st and 2nd gear that it just slams too hard when it shifts. My engine could pull the gearing easily, but the slamming into second is just hard on things in general.

in sand and stuff like that I use paddle tires on my slash.. not the slayer but same idea just the electric version.. the paddle tires are awsome for sand and dirt just dont use them on the pavement at all because you will rip them apart really fast!!! I have mt's and the shortcourse and I would recomend keaping the slayer a short course and getting a mt. because you will miss having fun with the shortcourse truck after you have it converted... thats just my 2cents though...

I replaced the trans with a revo trans much better but still not right it has a dynamite mach 26 i put the three shoe clutch set up 14t bell gear i talked to traxxas they said the diffs are the same from slayer and revo so i think it must be the engine or the carb settings if you set the carb back to stock settings it wont start they say 3 1/2 high speed and 2 on the low to get it to run it has to be set at 2 on high speed and flush with low. seems to have poor acceleration with a pretty good amount of smoke coming out for about 2 secs, then it takes off like a bat out of hell, then shifts to 2nd and keeps continuing, tried to lean out to get better acceleration an 8th at a time, it just doesn't seem to get better, eventually it just leans out. if anybody has any ideas, please let me know.

What pipe are you running? I tried sneeking by with the trinity hi-flow pipe with an XTM24.7 (which is very similar to the mach26) and it didn't run worth a crap. I then tried the dual chamber chrome revo pipe, also crap.

Ended up going with a side mount and BB pipe. Temps dropped from about 280F to 220F (after adjusting the tune for the pipe of course) and had more power than I could deal with. Would still be running the engine of the OWB wasn't giving me fits.

As it is, I'm running an LRP28S3 with a side pipe... had to gear up a bit to avoid second gear wheelies that sent it over on it's top... lol

Outlaw pipe? If you mean this one:

Throw that thing as far as you can. I got one once in trade that was mixed into the spare parts. I tried it... once. Loud and useless. Really screwed up the tune, gave me no extra power and made the engine run stupid hot! It gives you no real back pressure and isn't even large enough to handle the 2 cycle pulse that our RC engines require to run right. Also, since there is next to no back pressure, it doesn't pressurize the tank which helps in destroying the tune.

After seeing it/running it, I'd never suggest running this pipe on anything but maybe a 4-cycle rc engine, since they don't require any back pressure. Even then, you'd be just as well off with a straight copper pipe...

i AM THINKING ABOUT THE RD LOGICS BIG BLOCK PIPE FOR REVO I can't FIND A PIPE OTHER THAN THIS ONE

I put the BB header to the stock pipe and it seems to run pretty good a lot better than the outlaw pipe but i don't know if i should stay with the stock pipe because it was made for a 3.3 small block and i am running the dynamite mach 26 i was thinking about LOGICS BIG BLOCK PIPE or a THS pipe does anyone have a idea of what would be better?

Well, if you don't really care a ton about looks, but want to get the power out of that engine, run a side pipe. Doing that means you can buy a pipe off ebay for next to nothing that will work better than what you have now.

Personally, I didn't like the rear pipe. 1 band rear landing and it crushes your header. Side pipe doesn't look the best, but has proven to be the most durable for me.

i was just looking into the buku pipe but everyone is out of stock for the slayer
