Supposedly if you have a FB account he sells them a little cheaper on market places then eBay.
 
Granted it might or would hinder the use of some bodies, but there is still ways to customize the appearance of RC’s with clip-less bodies.
Clear paintable versions of the clip-less bodies are almost always offered, clip-less conversion kits are also offered for some brands and bodies.

I do appreciate a clip-less body on the RCs that I have and actually use.
I find them very handy.

For me it doesn’t matter one way or the other on shelf queens.

Which if I put a lot of time and effort into creating a custom looking RC, I also tend to not really want to run it and damage it.
If I really love the look, I tend to create two of them, one to run, one to show sort of deal.
