I'm jumping in extremely late here, but I have to say that this is one incredible build. You are a truly talented person. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see the finished product.

There goes another keyboard! Coffee+Rolex posts=New Keyboard needed.

Isnt this project done? I swear I have seen it around somewhere? Damnit Ralph stop waving your savy and let us see! I dont want to go back however pages I gots to go :hehe:

Oh and Addict, nitro works great for getting that snot off

I'm almost settled in after moving and the Humm-Vee is the first project I want to get back to. I removed the plastic brush bar it came with and I'll be scratch building one out of brass to match the ones on the military pics.
Stay tuned, boys and girls. :)

Size matters

I'm about to get back to my big scale 1/6 Humm-Vee and just ordered a new set of tires that I thought might look more realistic than the Rok-Lox that are on it now.

These are the 2.2 Rok-Lox.

These are now in the mail, headed my way. I think they're really improve the scale look.

Rolex the Dirt Grabbers look great and perform better than expected but they are a lot smaller than those Rok Lox! Too small for that rig IMO.

Now that I see them both, you might be right. ALL the tires posted by slowngreen in the first post got serious consideration before I chose these.

EDIT:
I'll move my posts to the build thread so I don't interfere with the tire thread.

I hate to say it but yeah their small in comparison. The rok lox are dead ringers for Interco Iroks too which is great.

I would have suggested the Mickey Thompson Baja Claws as a change personally. Same size at 5.75".

I absolutely wanted the Mickey Thompson tires for the military V-tread look, but it wouldn't have been right with his name on a military sidewall.

Debadging is pretty easy though but I understand for sure. Wish their were a better option for you like the Goodyears or something.

By the way, you pictured 1.9's, hope you ordered 2.2's :D

You made me panic, so I checked:

They also offer single tires at RC4WD for the 2 tire sets as well.

Good luck on the Chris Craft build....

Well, I got the new tires today. Bummer. They're beautiful but WAAAAAaaaaay to small for this truck. I don't know how I missed checking for the overall size.
Give me some recommendations for a good tire with a flat tread.
I can always use these to build a military trailer for the Vee since I already have an extra set of those wheels.

How about these

At 5.19 inches they are close to the size of the Rok Lox you have on it now. I think these would look good!

5.5 inches

Looks like Goodyear MTR's and 5.5 inches. I had these in 1.9 and they work pretty good...Not that you would actually drive on them :D

If they made these in 2.2 they would be perfect!
