FG 1/5 and 1/6 scale trucks and cars

Hi guys,

Been following the talk on the monster beetle and marder. I own an FG formula one competition car (with hydraulic disk brakes), a big foot 1/6 scale FG monster truck and a 1/5 scale Mclaren competition touring car (cable disk brakes). All I can tell you guys is that these two stroke Zenoah engines do not die until they run out of gas. I have gone over an hour on a tank! My 1/5 scale Mclaren does 65 m/hr, two speed tranmission. The bigfoot monster truck compares with the monster beetle with a few small differences: total of 8 shocks with 2 shocks on each wheel. Formula 1 car is by far the coolest - most everything alloy and off course, real hydraulic disk brakes with master cylinders and everything. The marder can outjump any 8 or 10 scale buggy if it is set up correctly. The monster tires on the monster beetle makes it very stable and by the way it is HUGE!!! Weighs 25 lbs. I'll post some pics here.

That is one nice collection of rigs you have there Bigscale. You must have a bundle rapped up in them.

Rigs, their pricing, and bigger pics

Olds 97,

I'll work on some bigger pictures for you!
It is worth seeing the Formula1 with all its alloy!
Do not leave the Maclaren behind.
Not as much alloy, but almost there!

The truck is in a transformation stage!
Will post a pic late this weekend!
Doing all alloy control arms, alloy bulkheads, Hydrolic brake system, alloy gear protector, Roll bar on back of truck in bed, 27 cc chrome engine, chrome FG tuned pipe, and much more.

ryghten, on pricing, since you bought a Beetle, and you know that costs, the fg truck standard is not much more if any thant the Monster Beetle.
The formula 1 competission car is by far the most expensive product by FG. Before any radio gear, retails total $3150,
Competission Maclaren before radio gear totals $1933!

But, once again, these cars copy the real deal.

The detail on the on roaders are true to racing.

You have to have a wheel alignment kit to do the wheel alignement setup,
The formula 1 has tire warmers (electric) to get the tires sticky before racing for better grip.
The hydrolic brakes is the real brake fluad, master silinder and you can even fit rain tires.
All options available on suspension setup.

4 * 4 kit is coming soon and that will be my first purchase coming up next.

pics will be coming later!

Thanks for the info Bigscale, I don't think the little woman would be to happy with me if I got into the F1 hobby, thats spendy but the detail is incredible on them. Do you have a local track that you run the F1 and Maclaren on? Is there like a racing league in the states for them like with 1/8th buggies? Now what would happen if I put one of those race engines in my Monster Beetle???

To be streight up with you, the on-road and off road fg cars all come with the Zenoah. The only differences in On-road VS off-road, is that the on-roads come with the 23 cc and the off roads come with the 26 cc. The reason why the on-roads are faster is due to more accurate suspension setups, they are closer to the track not as high as off roaders, and smaller wheels.

The Beetle will do great with a 27 cc engine on it, but the chrome won't last very long if you bash it off road on the gravel tracks.

There is a racing body in the U.S. and there are world champion chip racing as well. check out www.5thscale.com for details.

We do not have a track suited for 1/5 scale racing yet, but I run mine in a huge parking lot with no islands and concreet bariers . Allot of fun.

Thanks for the info Bigscale, I looked at the chrome 27cc motor and it sure looks nice. I will run the 26cc till she wears out. Do you know what the average life span is for one? It sure is hard to find pics of the monster beetle, I have been all over the internet looking, but I did find these (pics ). There are also a few vids here (vids ). The more I look at stuff the more I can hardly wait to run it. Its on the way and I will see it soon.
