Well I have this bug to get a new rc, I was looking into the mugen prospect pretty heavy, then I thought what will I do with it. I already have a pair of Ofna PBS's with WS7-11 mills that are in great shape. There is no real organized racing or tracks in my area so it is all bashing and we have a blast doing it. So I started to think it would be nice to have something that would go over a lot of different terrain (the 1/8th buggy is limited). So I was looking at some monster trucks (savage or T-max) but then I came across this 1/6 scale monster beattle, I watched some vids on it and I really like it, for scale size it is not as quick or fast as my buggies but they go about 40 to 45 mph and that will work for me (I have the buggy for all out speed) and you don't get to run WOT that often anyway. So guys let me know your thoughts.

Here is a link to one the 6th pick down.

heres link

By all means!

I looked into them a little while back. Everytime I download a vid of one of those things, I want one. They can take some pretty serious punishment. Their only downside is no 4wd. Although, I think there is one that has a 4wd module either becoming available or is already available. But most of them are 2wd only.

ya there is a 4wd conversion kit coming out for them in mid Feb, for the buggies and beattles. All the vid I have seem seems to say they do well with out the 4wd. I guess I will find out if I get one. I like the fact that I can fire it up at any time even in cold weather with no worries and they run for 30 to 45 min on a tank + no temp issues to deal with. I will be dreaming about this damn thing for weeks

I think it looks pretty cool. Thats just a gas engine then right? I wonder where that place is located? I see they have to add sales tax to Minnesota so thats where I'm guessin they are, but where in Mn? (I'm from Mn, and would like to check it out, if its a store, store) I can always pick it up for ya Ryhton..lol.. bGet er broke in for ya by the time ya get here..lol... Id go for it.. Looks cool!

They run a 26cc weedeater motor so fuel costs are cheap compared to nitro. There are some hopped up 27cc engines you can up grade to also. I don't know were in Minnesota they are at 4u2nv, and I wouldn't want you to have to suffer with breaking it in, so I guess I will do it.............lol.

If ya do end up gettin one, give me a holler where there located.. Id like to check it out.. Keep us posted what ya decide!! Thatd kick ass!

Update:

Just got an email back from the place I will buy this bad boy (they have much better pricing than the link). They come with every thing needed to run except for the radio gear and servos. You will need 2 Hitech 5745 Servo's for stearing, 1 Servo for each wheel, and 1 throttle & brake servo (Hitech 5955).
Then she is ready to run. More updates to come.

marders are very populair around here. i got a savage and a friend of mine a marder.
glad i bought the savage. marders are fun to drive but they take jumps horrible.
the weight distribution seems way off. they can't stay straight in mid air.
and they can't go over to rough terrain.

they are fun but i think the new 46 savage is more fun.

my opionio

Thanks for the input petal2thametal. For jumping I have my 1/8th buggies. From all the vids I have been watching it seems that the big monster tires help out a lot. They are coming out with there 4wd conversion kits in mid Feb. Keep the input coming guys.

Well guys I took the plunge and bought the monster beetle, I should see it in a week and a half to two weeks. His shipment lands Tues or Wed and it will be drop shipped to me. I did a lot of digging on price and found a good one through a small place called FGPerformanceRC. I emailed them on Sunday night and had answers to all my questions in early am, emailed Michael again and had a very fast response again. I ended up talking with him on the phone and he is a great guy to deal with. It was one of those rare occasions were you deal with someone that does not push a lot of extras on you. We talked about radio gear and he told me straight up that his prices on that could be beat so I may want to shop it. Know how often do you deal with someone that straight up, great guy. So if you are looking into the 1/6th or 1/5th RC game then check out Michael @ FGPerformanceRC, it was a wonderful experience and he is a fellow RC nut.

Michael was telling me of the hop up options also for these rigs, not only the 4 wd option but disk brakes and tons of aluminum options also. He is sending me a catalog with all the hop ups for this rig. I can’t wait there is going to be some sleepless nights coming up, makes you feel like a kid again. I will keep you all posted on how things are going. Now I need to line up some servos.

Well your Heli has no servos, so I am going to run it over with my MONSTER BEATTLE.................lol

And vids!

I'd like to see some better close ups of it with the body off just to see stuff...

If you have a savage near by, take a pic of them side by side to see the real size comparison.

Not a problem, Iwill get you some close uo shots olds, and maybe some beside zandors MT or on it. This being the one of the first 1/6 scale off road rigs on the site i will keep you all posted on performance and durability. It will be nice to run for 30 to 45 min on a tank and no temp issues. I want my beattle know, hurry up mr beattle.
