SH .21 .25 .28 or .30?

I'm getting a new engine and my LHS only has the sh engines so which one should i get? I've heard a lot about the .28.....i want one for my hyper8 buggy..i dont race with it...i just bash in the desert and have drag races on road or gravel...so which one would have enough power to climb dunes and have enough acceleration and speed for a drag race

buy the .30 and a larger clutchbell. 2 more teeth than what your's has. Tell us how it goes.

They both turn about the same RPM....the .30 will have more torque so you can gear it a bit higher.....you will most likely have more power than will got to the ground on a buggy.....but overpowered is what bashing is all about right?

ahhh the .30 was all sold out so i had to get the .28.. the biggest problem is all the engines they have are 3 ports only they only got one 7 port engine but it costs 450 so i can't afford it...my buggy is in the lhs now there putting on the new engine and new clutch bell and the a new clutch shoe..soo whats up with the ports? what does it mean? whats the difference between a 6 port and a 3 port?

The SH engines with 6 ports turn more RPM and make more power in the upper rpm range.
The 3 port SH engines will pull stumps out of the ground but do not really have a lot of top end power. Go up a tooth on your Clutch bell to get some more speed.
A JP-3 pipe works good on the 3 port engines, it will make the powerband broader.
The 6 port engines like high end pipes like the JP-2.

Doubtful, the engine you bought is way more powerful the than the Mac .28.
In a buggy it is going to rip. i have seen what you bought in a buggy, it was a handful to drive.

DAAAAAAAAAAAM! i just got back my buggy from the lhs and its great! they broke it in for me soo once i started it up i was like woooooooooooow..it has a hell lot of acceleration! all it needs is a 2 speed tranny...one question...my friend has the same exact engine (SH .28 3 port) on a kyosho inferno..he has the same hard-anodized tuned pipe as me...only different thing is different car and different air filter..i attached the hobao filter.(the one i got with the car) and he has a small foam filter..the one you see on all stock MTs. and we have the same tires...so we had a couple of drag races on gravel and i seem to always beat him..acceleration and top speed... so is it from the air filter or is it from the engine?

ill also take a video of tommorow since its too dark out now...haha can't wait for daylight!

its more than likely different gearing and drivetrain.

guess so...just finished bashing..burnt out my last glow plug grrr.. i only have $30 to buy fuel wit...gotta save up another $30 to buy a couple of glow plugs! engine was great! its screams soo loud...my friends house is almost half a kilo away and he can hear it!
