I'm putting a savage engine into my mt2 the engine is a 21 (3.5cc) will i need to change the gearing thanks for looking

Not sure which engine your MT2 had, but the HPI 3.5 (.21) is a mild engine.
If you're even able to shoehorn it in and get everything to line up, I'm guessing you'll have more torque but possibly less RPM's to work with.
That being the case, try a larger clutch bell or smaller spur gear than you currently are running.

You should definitely be able to gear up quite a bit and probably will really have to to keep from snapping axles and chewing up diffs.

How are you going to shoe-horn it in there? The back of the stock engine already almost hits the rear tower doesn't it?

Personally, I'd just get a decent 18 and pipe. Less hassle to install and less wear and tear. I do understand the want for more power though. I drove my slayer in stock form with a 2.5R in it and it did fine. Added RPM arms/MT tires (converted to revo) and the engine was a dog. Put in my old OS18TM and it still wasn't what I wanted... so, I broke out the BB kit and threw in a tame big block. Now it's more like something I want to drive. ;)
