I am goin to buy a Truck but what one i keep asking myself.
This is what i have so far.

I can buy a T-maxx for $365 or the Savage 25 for $399

Like the power or the Savage 25 and like the ease of starting and the reverse of the T-maxx.

I am stuck on what one to pick and only have to the end of the month to pick.

Any input will be helpful. Thank you

No offense or anything, but do a search. This topic has been beat to death on just about every RC forum that I have seen.

Although, from what I have gathered:
Pro:
T-maxx: speed, hop-ups, cust service
Savage: strong, decent speed, did I mention strong

Cons:
T-maxx: known for parts breakage
Savage: roto-start has been known to bust one-way bearing

i was debating as well, then i ended up gettin another xxx-nt... but it all depends on what you want to do with the truck... if your gonna jus dink around and drive fast then get the maxx, but if you are into bashing... its worth the extra couple of bucks and runway feet to hit those ramps and know that the salvage will be able to hold up... your call... keep in mind that if you intend on racing it... although the t-maxx is faster... generally you can't use reverse in racing, so that wont help you.... id pick a savage personally.

This is the 1st RC forum I have been to.
Also the Savage 25 is still pretty new and dont want to get out dated info.

Both are good trucks and you have people tell you that the t maxx is better as with the savage. I have never owned a savage, but I have 2 t maxxs that I rip with. You are going to break something no matter what you buy, especially if you are hard on them. But you aint supposed to be easy with them anyway, so which ever one you buy, plan on spending money in the future for brokin parts.

2 of my friends have had t maxxs for 3 years....one of thier little brothers got a sport maxx and i have a savage 25....i would personaly pick my savage over theirs (i have driven all of them), but thats because mine is a perfect jumpper:worship:
however...they can all beat me unless i use the 18 toother the i will:bowned: them

tmaxxes rule i mean they're like the best thing ever made ya know. my tmaxx will kick your savages a$$ because i've got it all hopped up to the maxxx!! my tmaxx owns all!!!

Well, I Thank You for the input far as what truck to pick.
I dont realy feel like hearing a pissing match between T-maxx owners and Savage owners. Just wanted some honest feedback from the people that own the trucks that i was looking at.
Unlike the last reply that was posted.
This is what I have done. I ordered the Savage 25 and only going to put a header and maybe a better filter, just to be a lil different from my bosses truck. I dont plan to race or compete, ok just with my 2 buddys but that is more for fun than winning.

Might check back and let you all know how i like it. far as i am concerned that BOTH trucks are even far as what to buy.
Its just on what your preferences are.

I TY all again

all opinions.... talk to the people at your lhs they'll help you out...but good louck with the savage..you'll love it:hi:

I was being sarcastic. Just joking around in response to the above quote, so calm yourself!!

You seriously can't go wrong with either truck. The T-Maxx is quicker and handles better VS the Savage that is out of the box more suited for harder bashing and is a little bit more durable.
Either choice would make anyone happy, as they are both fun as hell to mess around with. I'm sure you'll have loads of fun with your new Savage.
My T-Maxx will still kick your Savage's ass. (WOOOO WOOOO WOOOO Sarcasim Alert!!)

Ok i can take some funnin but have read too many msg boards and had to weed out all the smack talk between owners to get to what i wanted to read.

I didnt mean to blow up . :P"

Ty again for the input

hey sebek, since your gonna keep it pretty stock, since your just gettin a new header and filter, you should get a fuel filter. casue if you like accidentally spill something into yor gas, it will go right to your engine and thats not good.just my 0.02.
vince

You had mentioned in your first post about the one way bearring, the failure of the one way bearring is mostly caused by user error

WOW - I think its great all the feedback and helpfulness of everyone. Luv the TIPS from you all. Will check out the filter too.

I know my buddys use them in thier helicopters.

TY again for the input

I will warn u with the Savage stock radio. I'v mentioned this before in the msg board but since u signed up today, My lhs says they've had to send back hpi radios outta the box cuz they didn't work. I had one on my rusty and it started acting like crap and pushing the throttle up when I steered. Don't let that happen to u. That would be the true durability test for the savage. I would recommend changing it out with the stock T-MAXX radio, the TQ3, or I guess the regular TQ since there's no reverse. You can add headlights on the third channel, I'v seen em' on ebay there awesome. Sorry that last sentence was kinda off topic.

theres nothing wrong with my savage radio...at all...and the tmaxx radio is not much better...from my experience

RTR radio are all junk period..

Now to the question the savage is probobly better right out of the boxx than the MAXX but once you start hoppin them up the maxx will be better IMO

As Domination has alluded to, most RTR radios are not the best on the market. They get the job done.

Got__Nitro? That is the first I have heard of problems with the Savage radio. Mine never had any problems. BTW what is your LHS? Please tell me something other than HobbyTown USA....
