So cool to see a new nitro coming out !! Last summer there was talk of the savage being discontinued, this is great news 5.9!!! Doontcha know !!! Yeeeeeeehaaaaaaaw !!!!

yeah but it's the XL. not a fan of the XL, to long, body selection seems limited. and looks weird to me.
but, the X 4.6 is back! so I'm stoked! one of these days I'm going to have to break down and buy one. ...probably used, cause damn have those things gotten expensive.

Yep , I’m working on a beetle body for it , gunna be cool , I have a 4.6 for sale if there’s any interested people , I put a Lpm engine in my 5.9 , thing is a complete blast to drive , a wheelie rig all day , they just need some work , like any other RC , also I got the new x max monster body wich just about fits right on , I’m looking at that trying that , then folks ,,,,, it’s a dam Chevy body on the toughest nitro truck on the market , I’ve got two of them , don’t knock till you have crashed it around like I have

When I built my xl I didn’t put the wheel extensions on it. I feel the same way about their looks. But, I like the looks of them with out extended wheel hubs.

If I can give you a friendly tip. When it comes time for a motor, definitely consider the hobao hyper 30. It is absolutely insane. I put a slipper eliminator on mine and after stripping to two Hpi hardened clutch bells, I had to reinstall the slipper clutch. The power is insane in a savage xl.

It’s so strong I’ve got two complete piston, sleeve, rod, and bearing sets for backup. I can’t explain it. I’d like to post a video but, I simply can’t film it and drive it at the same time. It’s extremely quick, extremely powerful throughout the power band, and top speed is there too.

I would love to try that engine , ya the slipper is probably needed with that. Great info thanx , I’ll give that engine a look

I put this kit on a truck I built last winter. Everything was new 3.3 parts except the new 2.5 shocks. I sent the dynamite motor to be modified. I put it back in the truck a month or so ago and retuned it and ran 7 hardbacks through it.

Took the motor off, put this kit on, fired the truck up and got it running. Come home tonight and was fixing on starting the break in. Rolled it across the door and it kicked up after about three inches.

Busted rear differential. Had about 1.5 gallons through it. The dynamite .19 was very strong. Close to an OS 21. And, was more then this diff could handle.

I ain’t going to get it running this weekend now.

I just put the os 21 in my Traxxas revo, I’m told I’ll have to play Easter today though so maybe tomorrow
