After 3 long days of completely taking apart my savage 21 and cleaning it and putting it back together I found that the carb setting were way off. When I was trying to tune the engine the hsn was really lose and whenever I was to rev the engine, it would vibrate out of its position. I was thinking about buying a new carb because of its age but I was going to sell the car so I wouldn't want to spend the money on it. Also the fuel is back flowing. Clueless!

I've never owned a Savage but have seen similar issues where there was either a missing oring or spring on the needle that would typically hold it in place. Is it possible it rattled out and got lost? Also are you sure the fuelines are hooked up properly? Your exhaust should be connected to the top of the tank and the carb should be connected to the bottom of the tank.

yah i have all the fuel lines hooked up correctly, but i will look into seeing if there is a missing spring or o-ring because i always remember it being tighter. thanks
