age old question, what engine should i get after this one burns out.

first off, my little rustler is my neighborhood basher toy. the one i play with most. it does not have many mods. I try to keep this one as reliable as possible.

I noticed my local shop has the dynamite .19 for like $105. At this price I'm really tempted. I just wonder... is that too much engine for my goal of reliability. I also wonder what kinda high end RPMs does this engine crank out? (compaired to the stock 2.5)

Has anyone put this engine in a rustler? and do you like it?:\

That is the the most common application i hear about, (It had good low end power and was easy to tune).

however in a rustler low end power is not really need. I'm more interested in the mid to high end.

i have had it with traxxas engines the last 3 all spit the wrist pin keeper out. i am looking at O.S. 21tm. but it is not cheep. $284. i realy want get away from traxxas. i do have a new picco .26 t max. pt no. 51223 it as two times the power of a 3.3. i would sell it for $189. but it does NOT bolt in to a 3.3 spot. if you want it e-mail me. Ahh no thanks bud. I've actually got a picco red dot new in box. I really want to find a reliable cheap engine for my little rustler. and a red dot would break a rustler and wouldnt even be fun.

+ 1 on the Dynamite .19 . I replaced my 2.5 with it in my Jato and it is much easier to tune and keep running. Also hooked a THS pipe to it. Power is good across the board. It has a little more power than the 2.5, witch when the tune was on was very fast. And the price makes it worth a try!!

Go with os.21 tm pricey but worth every penny of it.Been using os for 40 yrs ill tell you there damn good engines.:D

to: w bill i have the 21tm setting in the jato frame, it looks like the fit is good. but iam trying to fit a rd logic dual pipe on. but the coupler seems short. is there a long straight coupler? i have had this set up running before and have had this same trouble. also where should the needles be set to start at? i have not checked where they are now.

You may have to make a custom piece for that pipe i would prefer a good tuned single instead. On the needles start with 11/2 on your low speed 21/2 on your high speed then go from there.Hope this helps you

thanks for the info it should help. to mount the dual ext i found a big paper clip, that is 2.2 mm dia. i found it at office depot. item 620-883 the clips are gold color. i even made a holder to hold elec wires by using alligator clamps on the end of the wire.
