I want to replace the engine in my 4wd ecx, dos anyone have a suggestion on an engine I should use? (Brushless)

Welcome in @glitzgot , just so you don't get a bit confused, it's actually a motor you are looking for, not an engine.
Hobbywing or Castle is always a good choice.
You can also purchase a cheap motor ESC combo from amazon that actually work great.
I have two cheap systems with no complaints.
It would also help us if you shared exactly what model your car is.

To be honest idk why I called it an engine, maybe I'm used to working on cars haha.
I’m working on an ecx torment 4wd but it has been 2wd swapped

Welcome! Brushless is fun, but easy to get carried away. On something like ecx that is getting harder to find parts for I would stay on the conservative side for power/kv. After that your budget will have a lot to do with what combo you throw in there. If you have a 540 motor brushed, you will be looking for a 3650 size brushless motor.

The Circuit 4x4 brushless RTR stadium truck came stock with a 540 3300kv motor. Was there a brushless version of the Torment 4x4 short course truck? I don't remember. If there was, it probably came with the same 3300kv motor as the Circuit. That's what Kv I'd shoot for, for the same reasons @Ritz413 gave in earlier post.
