I have the RS4 3 will the Roto Start work with this car. I keep pulling out the freakin cord and i am getting sick of it....Please Respond ASAP... THank You

??? john what you smokin?? i think he means the starter cord.. like he keeps busting pull starts.. as far as the roto.. what motor is it?? if a roto wont a tiger drive may..

Man i have no idea it came with the RS4 3 when i bought it....is says nitro Star on the back and the top of it is purple...

sounds like the old Nitro Star 15fe...

The rotostart will work. You'll need part # 87120. That's the rotostart for .12/.15/.18 with pull start

Yeah Pullstarts can be a real pain in the ass sometimes. Theres guys that swear by them because they hve less to carry and its convinent cuz its always there, then theres guys who like the simplicity of the Roto start. I am one of these guys. I like my roto start but they do have some draw backs such as one way bearings, having to charge batteries all the time, and its alot of stuff to lug around all the time. But like you I kept pulling the starter cord out. I would still suggest a roto start to any noob though. Once ya get the roto start, backplate, battery and a charger, its very convienant and easy to use. Check out www.RushRc.com and theyll get ya set up with everything ya need for a Roto start. (Otherwise do a search for the proper way to pull a pullstart.) Sounds like your pulling a little to strong. It should be a flip of the wrist, not pulling like how ya pull a lawnmower. Good luck!

yeah I'm getting that same car too all u need is a glow plug glow igniter it should have electric start plugin the battery in the rc car and the battery in the glow ignitor and then start it up u shouldnt have much of a problem unless u didnt breakin lol
thats basicly it u guys do mean RS4 3 EVO right

lol .^. confused much.. anyway. I scrapped the rotostart idea.. I had it I used it I got rid of it. My buddy changed his to pullstart almost immediatly.. becuase his 7.2 battery was dead. I gave him the idea of using a drill, he semi listened to me and used a rotozip... LOLOLOLOL he tried one time and his rotostart shaft turned into a pretzel. NO word of a lie its in a bowtie shape. So he had to switch over to pull start. I did it a few months later becuase honestly waiting for 7.2 to charge sucks. and pullstarts if you dont pull them out all the way will never break on you. if you car starts properly you shouldnt have to pull it out more than like 6 -8 inches

Pullstart should work fine on the .15fe, my nitrostar .12 starts with 1 or 2 pulls every time and doesn't take much force to turn it over. My new Genesis with the nx76 .46 motor OTOH requires arms of steel to pull over and really needs the glow plug loosened a bit to drop the compression to get it started. I'm going to be investing in a rotostart for this thing soon enough I'm sure...

I had a roto start on my savage and hated it. It was my first nitro and I ended up busting two one ways and after all that the actual roto start motor gave out on me all within the first two weeks. I switched over to pullstart and love it. You get a better feel for the engine.

My roto start has been awesome. Get a quick charger to charge to 7.2 in 15 mins. Thats what I got and I wouldnt have it any other way. Also I've used a drill before too, it worked but kinda sucked because you have to use it in reverse and the drill I had was a hand tighened chuck. But again everyone has there preferance. And I think ya can tell a pullstart might not be yours, so give the rotostart a shot. I think youll really like it.

If you are breaking pull starts now then you may end up blowing one-ways with a roto.

Lots of opinions on this so I'll throw mine in too! I've got 2 savages and an mt2, all with rotostarts. Never had a problem mechanically, and a 4 amp charge on the 7.2v takes about 20 mins. I can run pretty much 4-5 hours of bashing...refueling...bashing on 1 battery. Love it. My neice lost a one way on her savage on one of her first few runs, but not a problem since. Just BE SURE to locktite the screws holding it to the engine, or you'll be wandering around the track to find it...

Broken one ways has nothing to do with the person whos doing it though. Pullstarts seem to usually only break because of people over pulling them. And dont pullstarts have one ways anyway? The only thing I've owned with a pullstart had a Gs engine and that had a one way bearing. I've had a couple different things with pullstarts and have ran gallons and gallons of Nitro and havent had ANY problems. No bad ones ways yet (Knocks on wood)

yes it will work.i love the roto start best way to go in electric start in my opion.only thing that has happened with my roto start the switch messed up.one of my friends roto starts done the same thing..but we changed the switch out with one from radio shack havent had a problem since.
