Hey Guyz what's up,

Well I just switched to using the HPI Roto Start from a pull start for my picco 26. Well I went to my LHS tonight to get some help with my 26 for tuning. My roto start is pretty much new but I picked it up used. I clicked the switch a couple of times and the switch froze and I couldn't get it started. Just wondering what kind of switch people are using to replace it. Any help would be sweet.

I am assuming the switch has to be a momentary switch that is normally closed!!! I have seen 4 of those things and they are junk. They burn up and the one way bearing is not much better on the savage. I would just buy the back plate and the shaft and use a drill at its most minimum setting.

Yeah I have a Makita with three batteries. However I need a charger and I think the batteries are too friggin old to even charge anymore. Point being, I am not sure if it's worth it to get the makita going again.

I would just invest in a nice milwaukee or dewalt. You can always use a good drill around the house!! I was considering a cheap drill from harbor freight but I gave it some thinking and I do need a drill.

I hate mine and am currently changing mine over to pull start if I can ever get the correct pull starter...I'm on my 3rd one and still aint got the correct one.....I hate to have to carry the glow plug starter roto start with me as i wonder away in my bashing adventures just in case I flip over and it shuts down. I figure with pull start all I need is the glow plug starter.

I was thinking about going to a pull start for that reason but I think I'll just wait until it breaks or something just because I don't feel like spending the $25 bucks when my roto is working now.

I use a 12V hitachi and its great. its light and small but has enough torque for what i want. I had a Dewalt 18V XRP and sold it after a week. I don't want to hold 10lbs of drill. Their compact version is nice but still heavy IMO. I don't need a drill that heavy duty for anything i work on.
