Ok I was out running my Losi XXX SCT I picked up a losi 86t teflon spur @ my HS on my home from work today. Droped it into the Rig ran great for 15 min than striped spur gear smooth I was running my 3 cell lipo..

I was thinking about getting a Robinson Racing Steel Spur gear I hear Robinson Steel gears are very good or reinstall the stock 90t spur & only run my 2 cell lipo a 3 cell lipo might be alittle overkill for my XXX even though my ESC & my FUZE brushless motor can handle it What do you guys think
Thanks

Nope....

Put a steel pinion and spur in and you'll tear up the internals. Make sure your mesh is right. I haven't lost a kevlar spur gear yet.

Yea... I was thinking about that too if I went all steel what kind of issues I would run into if any... I also think I diden't have the gear mesh right " I kinda just through it in & put the pack in & ran it " My bashing buddy said thats probley the reason I striped the gear because I diden't check proper gear mesh "

I set mine by feel, tighten it down and just rock the gears gently, should only be a hair of space.

I only run mine on 2s, but I run it on tacky clay with softened "super soft" compound tires. 3s shouldn't be an issue as long as your mesh is set right. Doesn't hurt to keep a couple extra spurs on hand though. They're cheap, and easier to replace than that internal gears.
