Sometimes it's not all about the "oil". I'm not sure what bore the shocks are, or if any aftermarket pistons are made for the Pro2SC10/Rival MT10, but playing with different size pistons holes to get the right pack that you're after might be something to look into. Again, there's always going to be a give and take when trying to tune for one particular area.

For general "bashing", I probably would not worry about pistons, or springs. As long as you can get a bones/arms level ride height for the front and rear, and the spring adjustment collars aren't maxed out... perfect. Springs aren't going to do diddly squat for damping.

Just tossing this out there but you want the truck to bottom out on jumps. If it doesn't then you start blowing apart your shocks, or you break the rod ends, break shock standoffs, your arms start to warp ect. Chassis slap is actually what you want it to do. I never understand why people are so adamant about not having their trucks bottom out on jumps.

I totally agree, but a person wants to slow down the forces of gravity before the chassis slapping occurs. Thank you for bringing up the chassis slap subject as it's my main concern for my monster SCT build.

Hey all!

I’ve got a TA Rival MT10, and a fun jump!

I’m trying to help from bottoming out when landing. Of course the flat landings aren’t helping!

I’m running 40wt Losi oil in my sock shocks. I’ve got some 60wt (810) that I’m going to try soon. Do the aluminum shocks come with any performance upgrade? Would stiffer springs for the stock shocks be a better upgrade?

I bought the ally TA ones and they are way better, handling and jumps
