IDK about the ST shocks, never used them. I have used their steering racks, seem okay quality wise.
If I were you I’d hop on over to Jenny’s RC and grab some GTR takeoff shocks from either the Slash 4x4 ultimate or maybe the Raptor R. By the time you buy shock bodies, caps, shafts and all you’ll spend as much or more on a maybe. The GTR shocks from TRX are pretty solid, their best to date IMO.

I have them on my Bandit build that sits and my stampede. Only ran a few times but I like them. If you go through with it I suggest the gold trx shock shafts also.

If interested they also have the spring retainer in aluminum to match the bodies.

There aluminum Ultra Shocks. The worst part of Ultra Shocks are the shafts that bend really easily. My recommendation is to fork up the big bucks for a set of GTRs. You'll be much happier.
For what I do with my trucks, even GTR shocks have bent. Currently, my Ultra shocks have upgraded shafts, but, I'd like something easily adjustable without having to carry a bunch of extra plastic collars, and, at $75 a set (Jenny's current price), the ST Racing parts are half what the GTR's are. Cobra Racing makes a set of big bores for around $40, but, I have never had any experience with them. In my experience, the cheaper ones typically leak all the time.

It’s your money to spend however you like, but the 3 parts you listed add up to $73.99. No shafts, pistons, seals or pivot balls, which easily adds a minimum of $25. Cheaper than GTR takeoffs from JRC? LOL.
Perhaps your doing more than a 1/10 scale rc was intended to do? I run the plastic Ultra shocks for years with nothing more than occasional bent shafts which I just bend back by hand without even taking the shock apart.
Just bought two complete sets from JRC with all the fixins for $42.88 delivered. Score!
Happy bashing👍🍻

Where did you get those numbers from? The shock bodies come in pairs, and are $18.99, and, the shock caps come in packs of 4 for $14.99. Total, with NY tax comes to $57, and, they are in stock at the hobby shop that opened not far from me, so, add maybe $10 for gas. As for the rest, I already have upgraded shock shafts in my ultra shocks, and, everything, seals, shafts, ends, will all transfer to the ST shocks. I run my trucks hard at a skate park (think Talbot times 10), and, I have, on multiple occasions, cracked the shock bodies on hard landings.

Oh, I see. I didn’t know you have the 2 shock Slash, I’ve only seen them with 4 shocks.. new shock bodies with old seals and shafts? Huh. Wouldn’t be my choice.
KT times 10 with a Slash at the skate park? HaHa. Like I said, to each their own but I wouldn’t be at a skate park with a Slash. Knife to a gun fight IMO. Enjoy!

Ok, I'm a bit lost here. Do you think you have to buy the shock bodies individually? You buy them in pairs, as in, two shock bodies for $18.99, not $18.99 each, and all 4 shock caps for $14.99, not $14.99 each. And, it's well known here that I run my trucks (all I own are 1/10TH scale SCT's) in every weather condition, on dirt and concrete, and that I hammer on them at skate parks as stress relief.

What I’m saying is your Slash uses 4 shocks not 2. Why would you only put 2 aluminum shocks on? Rain and mud have no ill effect on plastic last I checked.
The Slash is a great platform, I like em too. Have 2, one 2wd LCG with Rustler arms and a 4x4 XL-5 w/ TRX 3s system in it. Both are running on 1/8 buggy tires.
I’m actually a big fan of SCT in general, also have an SCT410.3, Mojave 6s, Losi 22SCT. The only one not on 17mm adapters is the Losi, but it’s in the works. I just find 1/8 buggy tires w/closed cell inserts to be the best bang for the buck. I run a clay track on my property exclusively, I haven’t seen a skate park since 1985. LOL.

Ok, I'm still lost, because I never said I was only doing 2. I'm doing 2 fronts and 2 rears. Or, is it that you don't get that when you buy the shock bodies, they come in pairs, as in 2 front, or two rears together, for one price? For $18.99, you get either 2 front or two rear shock bodies, two adjustable collars, and two bottom caps, not one of each. And, no, rain and mud have no affect on plastic shock bodies, but, jumping 20 feet or higher in the air does.

My bad, $52 for the ST shocks. Still, you’re going to use used parts to complete them right? I would prefer all new for another $20, but that’s just me.

Have you seen the Powerhobby shocks? $40 for the set. Supposedly aluminum caps too.

I have only ran that truck maybe 4 times since I put those shocks on, but, they are the 5th set this summer already (I probably have a half dozen complete sets of the Traxxas hardened shafts), and, they are the only ones I have issues with the body splitting, because all my other trucks have aluminum threaded shocks. For awhile, I was buying the Ultra shocks from Jenny's, and putting them on pretty much everything except my Senton. As for Power Hobby, I had a set of those on my first gen Arrma Fury, and they leaked quite often. I found this set, but, I have never dealt with them:

Fair enough. Since you have spare new shafts I get it. I’m weary of any of the lesser known brands of aluminum shocks too.
Being thatI rarely break shocks I’ve been really satisfied by the Ultra shocks that many don’t like. They work quite well, but durability is the weak point.
I’ve seen alot of people use Losi TLR aluminum shocks on Traxxas 1/10, but TLR prices are considerably higher than average.

I’d bet some Tekno SCT410.3 shocks would serve you well. 16mm diameter shock bodies and I believe the shafts are 4mm. Just too darned expensive. That’s if the specs (lengths) are right.
Good luck man, sorry for razzing you.

I used to use the ultra expensive ProLine ones, but, they have even bent from the way I am.
