@Moirae is that hydro dipped?
It looks wicked do you have a link to your build?
Yessir! it was my first try doing it and I almost gave up halfway through because it was frustrating af. I learned a lot that will really help me for the next time though and I'm seriously happy I didn't give up because it did come out looking crazy cool when I saw the finished product it was all worth it 🤣

I think the biggest tip I can give anyone who is going to do it is to just make sure you don't cover up body holes like I did. I was worried about the protective film around my holes and covered them with masking tape and that one thing made my life a living hell trying to hydro dip the body. Never making that mistake again. Seriously a living hell and it had me wondering why every video I watched seemed to go 100% easier. I was dumbfounded until I realized my mistake 🤣

I don't have a build thread or anything yet but I do have a video. It's a Hobao VTE2 on 12s.

nah it was more like the paint wouldn't stick lol. I had no holes in the body so the paint would basically just flow out with the water whenever I tried to remove the water. It took waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than it should have because of it and I ended up wasting a lot of paint. Holes in the body would have allowed the water to drain out easier and allow the paint to actually reach the body much easier. All the videos I've seen of people doing the technique have all been with much smaller bodies that had much easier ways for water to escape the body. 1/7th scale body with no real holes or way for water to naturally escape was the main factor.

I used regular ol tamiya ps paint. Anodized pink, translucent purple, bright gun metal/gun metal, black, A couple squirts of regular pink and metallic red. I used silver as the backer and then some plasti dip on top of that for some protection. I used the red because I started running out of paint and the pink because I was dumb and thought the anodized pink was the cause of my original problems so I went to regular pink to see if it would work better. Then I realized it was all because of the water not draining and went back to the anodized pink.

As you can tell this poop was a HOT MESS and it still turned out amazing. It's almost like you can't mess it up 🤣🤣

It's funny because I didn't realize I actually had some color changing paint else I might have used it. The wifey had the same thought process as you and mentioned it to me after the fact. I bet it would look cool for sure though! Appreciate you checking out the chan, thanks man. :cool::thumbs-up:

You know more than I. Painting is sorta difficult at times. Your machines here, and on the other site come out real nice. 🏁 .

4.20. How do I remove that silly hat, over my emoji? Kinda reminds me of the 2nd grade. Great idea. With that said, please remove the hat. Again thanks for the new RC site. :thumbs-up: .

I forgot to mention that I assume the hats go away after halloween. Please do not put a hat over my emoji for Christmas. Or a stupid hat for Thanksgiving. Thanks. 27.
