The only issue is we never get both sides, and then some will use it as a revenge tool when they get their feelings hurt over a trade, etc.
Then someone here will point that out and the original poster gets defensive and it spirals into unproductive online yelling.

I'm all ears if you get legitimately scammed and have the proof, but ship delays, an order taken and the shop had to order it themselves etc are annoyances, not always indicative of how the shop runs and more suited to just bemoaning a less-than smooth purchase. Fine, but personally I just read those and say eh.. risky purchases don't always pan out.

I bought a Tamiya kit from a shop in NY when everyone else was out of stock. He didnt actually have it, ordered it himself, gave me a runaround about his warehouse, supposed to be delivered yadda yadda. 2 weeks later I had it.

Annoying? Yes. Reason to smear the shop for all to see? Eh, I have better things to do and I'd rather see more brick and mortar hobby shops, than scare people away with a bad review because I was inconvenienced.

Active Powersports? I've had that exact experience with them - they claimed to have something in stock that was out at the major retailers, turns out they basically take everything as a "preorder" and then wait for it to come in stock again.

More annoying to me is that google will return obvious "scam site" listings alongside the real ones in your searches, and there's no option to flag it as, "this isn't a legitimate retail site"
Oh, that one is a classic. Whistles and sirens used to go off in all the forums about that place.

Seems like there is enough warnings to avoid this shop.
Unknown sellers with great prices I always check before I order. Type "shop name scam" into Google.
On eBay, I will check (99% of the time) the negative reviews in the past 12 months. You can get a feeling how things are gonna go down.

One shop apparently thinks monster truck owners have weird needs when it comes to maintenance...

Somebody STOP this 👹👺🤡freak!

1. Buyer BEWARE
2. Pick up the phone and speak to a LIVE person before any purchase
3. Buy from an AMERICAN Co.
4 If it seems too good to be true..............

If you have a bad experience post the name of the business or individual. Save the rest of us the same fate.

sorry i didn't mean to have people guessing the hobby shop i didn't think of that but i will say the location of the shop is Australia-New south wales.
i'm not too upset over it there is a lot worst things that can happen, i will either get a refund or the shop will send my $250 worth of wheels/tires.

i did get a update from my bank...and quote,

So you're not out of pocket while we wait for the outcome, we'll put the money back into your account. You’ll see this in your transaction history within 3 business days, with the description of 'Chargeback Cred Adj'.

We can't guarantee that the final outcome will be favourable until we've heard back from the merchant. This may result in the money getting reversed from your account. We will let you know in writing if this occurs.

I hope you have better luck than I did with this.

"Hello, I have your tire order here ready to send so can U let me no if U still want it or I can cancel your order for a refund"

Is that an actual quote? Did they message 'U' instead of 'you'? 🤣
