Rig of the Month Discussion thread

Submission Rules
Only one photo submission per member.

Please choose the best photo you have. Blurry photos, low-resolution photos, and photos with poor lighting are not likely to get you many votes.

If you won the Rig of the Month contest within the last year, you are not eligible to compete again for another year (12 months from the date of your last win. So if you won in November of 2023, you can't enter the contest again until November of 2024).

In order to compete in this contest you must have 25 posts!
This is to reduce the amount of people who are joining the forum with no other intention than competing in this contest and then never being seen again. If you do not have 25 posts, you will not be able to submit your photo in this contest. Once you have 25 posts, you will see the option to post a reply to this thread, at which point you can enter the contest. The only exception to this rule is Supporting Members who can bypass this rule with no posts.

Do not submit photos taken using portrait mode (up and down). These photos are unusable for the Rig of the Month, and it's simply bad practice to begin with. The photos should be submitted in landscape (wider than taller) mode. If you submit a photo in portrait mode, it will be deleted it and it will not be included in the contest.

Photoshop is only allowed when it's done to clean-up the photo. Do not use Photoshop to put your RC in a place it never really was (a scenic backdrop for instance), or put things in the photo that were never there to begin with.

Do not use Instagram style photo filters, it's tacky and unrefined. Leave that to the teens and tweens that use Instagram please.

No pandering for votes. This means asking in the public forum or even in conversations to get members to vote for your photo. The only exception would be if you share the contest in social media - keep in mind brand new members won't be able to vote until 25 posts.

What is landscape vs Portrait mode?

I had already decided to enter this month, with a single picture. Thanks to all for the advice.
Really trying to be a good contributor here, while trying at the same time to decide if my stuff is worth sharing.

Thanks W.
. I only ask because I did "get away" with this photo for March, 2024 ROTM.

Square photos will work but its not ideal. Landscape oriention is better for the featured window on the main screen. Portrait photos will be removed from the contest.

Ignore me then bro. You asked a question, and I answered it cordially. Not the first time you’ve decided to MAKE problems where there are none. As I said above-never seen anyone else have so much trouble with the rules of this contest.. Now you’ve struggled with it twice that I’m aware of.. There’s a common denominator here, and it’s not the contest. 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ Good luck to you.

I like entering and being a part of it.
With all the killer RCs on this forum, I don't expect to ever win.
However, I'll keep entering and continue to enjoy all the cool pictures. 🤙
i don't know. Yours looks pretty hot this round.
I entered a 1979 Mad Max Interceptor V8. A unique job I did, since I found the 2015 movie car to be too plain.
Bet you can't guess what rig is underneath......

A Traxxas? It's got Traxxas on the tires. Couldn't be a Traxxas tho....... too plain

Idk why but that setup makes stock OEM rusty tires look a lot more cooler
Not sure if it's because of the white lettering or because of the lighting the wheels look like black chrome
I thought the tyes would be a dead give away. It's a Rustler under that short course body.

Thanks. I always make a big deal of my tyres. Must be coloured lettering, and shine the sidewalls, unless they are racing tyres and I fear the shine might run into tread area. I use Anacondas on my Rustlers, and now use the Alias on my HGC Slash for now.
Those wheels are Traxxas All Star black chrome. My favourite colour.
Thanks for the vote. Means a lot to me.

imho its not even brand battles anymore. Anything made in any factory will fail. No matter what brand. Speaking in 1:1 cars/trucks, not RC, lol.
Because of the quality of parts.
I seen so many recent recalls of Fords.
GM always had the lifter issues on the 5.3s and 6.2s in recent years of 1500 platforms.
Dodge with the transmissions, although they are doing smart with bringing back the srt division i heard and saying good bye to that awful electric charger daytona thing with fake engine sounds. Lol.
Even like this year model toyota trucks been having recalls and issues.

This is why we need to go back to the old school days.
OBS platforms. Square bodies. GMT800 platform. All of those were beasts.

This is a great photo. I think this every time I see it on the main page.

Thank you very much for the kind words!

I set out that day, camera in one hand, radio in the other, in the rain, on a mission to win!
