if you were gonna continue to race next season, which would you choose.....a Traxxas Revo or a Kyosho K3 ??

I am more into racing a buggy than racing a truck.
People do say the Revo does handle great as a racer but is it really that better than a Kanai 3 ?

I was offering a trade for a Kanai 3 so I knew the Kanai was well worth something good so I offered 2 top quality known nitros for a Kanai 3 and they rather me give them one Revo for it.
Hell, if the Revo is really that awesome as a Kanai 3 on a track then maybe I should go run out and buy a Revo to see for myself along with a Kanai 3 of course

Now this is all meant for racing not bashing. I have raced truck and they handled not that great and I have raced buggy and was more into it.

So what do you think....go Revo or go Kanai 3 ??

Sir, the revo is totally maintenance free and ready to race from the box. Spend about $40 on hop ups and it just wont break.

I didn't want you other rc's just for the sole purpose that I would never touch em. I'm not saying your trade offer wasn't totally fare, just not what I'm looking for at this time.

I think you answered your own question, go for the K3 if buggy racing is what you like more.

Yes go k3. You get to build it. You dont have to get a better steering servo or a synth reciver or engine because you just put those in at first when you build. With the revo you have to replace all those parts when they break.

1/8 scale racing is where its at. If $ is a question go with the REVO but if $ is not a problem get the K3. I know at the tracks I goto the 1/8 scale has the more advanced racers and veterans. I will be racing a Sirio .23 Revo this coming season along with 1/8 scale and thats only because I can't get a trophy in 1/8 scale its too competetive.

hey was actually giving me a hard time since I turned down his trade offer for the k3 I'm trying to sale.

geeze, what makes you think it's about you untchble, many boards on the net that I try and sell my stuff on.
Just so happens I am curious to know if a revo is better choice for me buy than spending close to $700 on a new Kyosho K3. But since I asked you replyed by calling me a peepee in a PM, so let it be......maybe I am a peepee for offering people on message boards two nitros for one, however I am No peepee for wanting to choose a Revo over a K3.

So I one a bid on ebay for a K2 and hopefully it will be as good as a K3 and better than a Revo.
I liked racing buggy to begin with and didn't like racing truck so why should I switch back, I shall stick to buggy.

Thanks for the kind and harsh words.....I can take the heat as much as any other racer out there.

Nice choice on the k2 ans good luck with it. Also I'm lost who called you a peepee?

Lets not get into a fight either. Its almost Christmas. Hapines and joy:)

thanks on the win on the ebay bid on the K2....is $280 shipped for a K2 roller in the right price range?
The guy said it had racer edge shock towers, braces, universals all around along with some spare parts.....just no electrics or engine.

280 sounds AWSOME to me! Now to get electrics and a power plant. Have fun.

hate to throw off the subject, but I have been using Hitec 645 in my trucks and my HB Lightning 2 Pro and that 645 is a high torque servo....since I am getting new servos for the K2 coming, should I be looking at high speed servos instead, especially for steering? Buggy's are pretty responsive when turning and there's not much weight on a buggy compared to a truck turning so high torque may not be needed in a buggy?
I think I just answered my own question......go for high speed servos?....right?

the k2 is just as good if not better then a k3 in my opinion.

And in all honesty, if you are wanting some maintenance free, not so competitive racing then go with the revo. The guys at my track have just as much fun racing monster truck as they do buggy.

My main motivation in maybe going with a MT over an 1/8th is purley money.

I would go with a servo that is quick and strong. I'm using an airtronics 958 (i think) its got 200 oz torque at .10sec. They sell for about $90 for throttle you don't need anything special. Have fun with your K2 your going to love it!

the servo you are talking about is the airtronics 94358z . This is what I use for sterring and throttle in my buggy.

On 10th scale I use the 94357z for throttle. It's just a smidge faster. Something like .07 and it still has 125 oz. of torque.

The best thing, they are sealed, ball bearing, and metal geared, so this is usually the last pair of servo's you'll have to buy for some time.
